This is a community interest project, and the paddlers that take you out on the inflatable canoe are lovely people, however the backwater they take you through is fairly poluted and smelly, and compared to real backwater and mangrove trips it bears no comparison. We saw a few birds and a cuople of snakes, but overall it was disappointing. I do not want to knok it too much as it clearly gives some locals a job and they are very enthusiatic in showing you what they can, however you will not be missing much if you dont do this trip

Real nice tour. 1000 Baht for a canoe with guide who paddles are fully okay. We were explained a lot and shown native animals. Snakes Birds etc. Really a great place

We went on this tour yesterday and did not know what to expect but was fantastic from start to finish. We started off at tsumami memorial and then local beach . Went on a canoe around little lake . Went to waterfall in national park which was amazing . Had lunch which was plenty of food . Then to the temple and to local village loved every minute of this tour . Mr moo tour was excellent would recommend to book with them

A wonderful experience and one which we would definitely repeat.
There are two choices for the canoe/kayak/boat each represented by a coloured flag where you can park. Choose the yellow flag as they didn’t try to charge us more. We paid 500 THB for two and it was certainly worth it. As I am getting on in years, I was a little concerned about getting in and out but I needn’t have worried as the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and even produced a small chair which fitted conveniently in the kayak!
Our boatman was very helpful and didn’t rush and pointed out local wild life such as snakes sleeping in the mangroves. We also saw water monitors and many monkeys. The monkeys weren’t particularly interested in us as feeding them isn’t allowed so they were concentrating on finding the small carbs buried in the mud.
The scenery was amazing and as the river was quite low, the roots of the mangroves and other trees were exposed showing an incredible variety of shapes.
Our little expedition lasted about approximately an hour and we enjoyed every minute.

careful with them, they lie and tell you price which is 3 times higher than real as soon as they see a tourist. paid 2000 per boat instead of 1000

As part of a tour we also came to “The Little Amazon” in Takuapa. A small boat tour in a canoe (2 people + guide) through the mangrove forests. We had never seen anything like it! Very beautiful, very special and sometimes almost mystical! You can also see animals if you're lucky, but we weren't able to see them except for two snakes and a hornbill. But that didn't detract from the boat tour, we still enjoyed it and would recommend the tour.
A small downer: Especially at the beginning (or end) of the tour you pass a few houses and there is a lot of rubbish on the bank. I think that if you benefit from such beautiful nature and do business with it, you should be interested in preserving it and collecting the dirt or not throwing it into the water in the first place.

30 minutes by moped from Khao Lak. 500 bhat each, luckily the time we visited, around noon, it was quiet, so our canoe trip was peaceful. Our guide was fun & pointed out birds & a few monkeys!

Well.
Nothing to see, but really absolutely nothing, except the disappointed faces of the other canoeists who came towards us.
As the tide was low and there was more life at the Hinterbrunzberg cemetery, our guide returned after 20 minutes.

Visited for the second time and again a great experience.
Had a very nice canoe guide who discovered four snakes in the trees.
Also saw some monkeys.
We were there at 9am - so we were the only guests!

This was not advertised anywhere, we came across it by accident but it was possibly the best hour and half we spent on tourist attractions. The staff were really friendly and helpful, our guide was simply brilliant at spotting wildlife, how he saw the sleeping snakes in the trees is beyond me, he had to use a laser light to point the pythons out to us. We saw monitor lizards, monkeys, birds including 3 x Kingfishers and obviously 3 different types of snakes. We were in a motorised boat so went further than the canoes, which is when we saw the Kingfishers. In the absence of a tourist office I can only recommend this activity as it is one we would do again. A proper camera and tele lens would be a definite advantage over a phone camera.
