A great place for kids. The birds are friendly and many will take food from your hand. There's a nice little park, cafe and picnic area. Great way to spend a few hours.

Visited early Monday morning. Staff were all great and engaging. lovely to see the birds flying around and plenty of opportunity to interact with.
Great cafe, lovely cheesy chips 💕 Great little play area.
We were there for three hours and definitely would return.

Loved it here. Right from going inside and the first parrot coming out to greet me and giving it some nuts to eat. Amazing! All the birds looked well looked after and happy. Most were free to fly off if they wanted. One parrot was high in the trees on the woodland walk! The end was fantastic. Soooo many parrots and you can be hands on. It was great! Super chip butty in the cafe afterwards. A great day out.

Outstanding day at birdland. To be honest wasn't expecting much but was blown away with the birds here. The staff were ever present and were exceptionally attentive, great to see so many tropical birds up close. The fact that one of the macaws decided to eat my ear did not detract from the day. One of the great features of this place was its emphasis on rescue birds as well. Really impressed and without doubt will come again. Little one loved it very much. Took about 2 hours to get around with lunch as well.

Love this place. it's an amazing place to go see the natural world for birds as close to nature as possible. They do an amazing job of taking in injured and unwanted birds while rehabilitating them. The staff as fantastic, their knowledge base is unquestionable, and they are in their field because of their love for the birds they care for. I take my daughter there at least once a year, and it is one of her favourite places to go. One thing I do love about the place is that they don't hide anything, they explain the life that the birds have had to try and educate and raise awareness of the issues the tropical birds face when they are taken out of their natural environment. It's eye-opening yet tranquil at the same time when you get to see how much of a better life the residents have now.

Had the absolute best time today with my family!
The birds are obviously loved and well cared for…and the staff were super friendly!

Really enjoyed the visit with our granddaughter aged 2. Quite a lot of free fling birds, including rescue birds. The walk through aviaries and the enclosed ones were reasonably spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful. A lot of the birds will allow you to feed them the seed you can buy at the entrance but they don't all actually eat it as there is loads over the floor in most places. Cafe is pretty basic but OK. Personally did not like the flavour of the mayo on my chicken burger so you may consider asking for it to be separate so you can choose to put it on yourself. Woodland walk was OK.

Excellent little gem hidden in the Leicestershire countryside
Took a toddler complete with buggy and it was so easy to get around. The paths are nice and wide, yes it was muddy but that’s the nature of a woodland bird sanctuary
The restaurant on-site was lovely and very reasonably priced
The parrot walk was lovely - the free roaming birds even the one who took a liking to the buggy wheel and my head (thought I’d mention I am scared of flying things lol)
The only downside was when a parrot mistook my finger for a peanut - that hurt but hey they are wild creatures and it’s not their fault my finger looked tasty lol
Would recommend this lovely place in fact I’ve booked for Santa at Christmas so fingers crossed for another exceptional visit

As our special needs daughter is fascinated by parrots on doing a google search this little gem popped up. Didn’t take us too long a journey in the car and the car park only had 1 or 2 cars there when we arrived. Got a lovely welcome from the staff and informed about which birds to feed etc, got an unexpected welcome at the entrance by Mango who took a liking to sitting my wife’s shoulder. Our daughter loved all the different types of birds and how tame they were sitting on her arm. Have to say not all the birds want to be fed some prefer fingers lol some are a bit nippy and I wouldn’t advise wearing anything new (I ended up with 2 small holes in my top) or coats with toggles around the hood these are a favourite of the bigger birds.
Ate in the cafe the staff were really nice and great with our daughter.
Definitely a must see experience for all the family have recommended to our friends and we have even booked for Christmas.

We just love this place - it’s birdy heaven 💕 you can buy food on the way in and there are colour codes telling you which birds can have which food.
Lots of birds in aviaries that are large and well kept. Some of the macaw cages look very small but these are sleep cages as the birds come out in the day to free roam.
Loads of free flying parrots to keep you company as you go around.
There are also some more unusual
birds such a Kia.
We too have a rescue parrot at home and love that this is a safe haven for parrots that need a home for whatever reason that may be.
We will definitely be back 💕

I know they have a grotto but 8 have never been there at christmas, but if anything like the birdland then it will be realkt good.
