Hi Carrie. I agree with Captain Charlie, Uber is probably the cheapest if you want to take the bioisland boat. There are no trains and most of the buses were part of tours with various kayak companies (they take a lot more people at once). You could also reach out to airport shuttle companies. They may be able to transport you from SJ to Laguna Grande? In both cases, I would see if you can negotiate a return trip since this bio bay is in a small town. If you’re willing to kayak, you can book a tour that includes bus transportation through an alternate company. If you do that, I would consider one that also takes you to El Yunque rainforest. They are quite near one another.

They do not have online reservations. You ll have to book on phone and give all credit card details. They ll say only 7 pm group is available. Plz do NOT take it. We made this mistake, and just saw stars and came back

Wear what you are comfortable in / bring a jacket. You bum might get damp and I got my sleeves wet other than that - no problem. It was chilly on the water.

Bio Island only offers tours in an electric motor boat and their tour costs $52 + some fees which bring it to more like $61. The operators are professional and intelligent and offer expertise about the bio bay and make the tour both educational and entertaining.

I don't know if Bioisland offers transportation or not. You would need to contact them directly about this. I rented a car while I was in PR and I drove back to my resort after the tour. It was dark and I was driving in an unfamiliar place, but I did not feel at all unsafe. In my opinion, you would save money renting a car, especially if you are travelling in a group. This would also allow you to explore the rainforest at your own pace and for free. Good luck!
