Well preserved and seemingly intact ’post’ windmill.

We saw the windmill whilst on a short visit to Mont Cassel in France. The well preserved and seemingly intact mill is a ’post’ windmill which allowed the structure to be rotated on its vertical axis to allow the sails to catch the wind. The windmill is located on the top of the Mont Cassel which is an ideal place as it is the highest piece of ground in the area and looks out over the plain of Flanders giving impressive panoramic views.
If you walk around the gardens and pause at the viewpoints the visitor will find direction arrows pointing to far off destinations marked on the tops of the walls. Unfortunately, on the day of our visit the views was partly obscured by mist but on a fine day it must be spectacular.

Un moulin et même plus

2021年8月

Depuis la Grande Place, monter le "chemin de pierre" pour accéder au très beau jardin (+ son étrange monument pointu), les vues sur la campagne, et ce joli moulin (fermé ce jour là...) accompagné par la statue équestre de Foch.
redescendre par l'autre côté.

Balade très sympa et facile.

Moulin assez quelconque

C'est un moulin du 16e siècle mais on 'ne pouvait pas le visiter quand j'y suis allée et d'extérieur il est assez quelconque, pour moi il ne vaut pas le détour.

Mont de Cassel, belle vue sur toute la région. Propre, belle place. Beaucoup de restauration fermée malgré le début septembre.
