Visita guidata cantina con degustazione in coppia. La guida molto brava nelle lingue, gentile ed educata. Nonostante ciò, non è stata gradita quest’esperienza per i seguenti motivi: gruppo troppo numeroso, poca descrizione dei vini prodotti e delle parti della tenuta non facendoti appassionare alla storia e alla produzione del vino, non puntualità nell’orario, degustazione scomoda in piedi con buffet preparato ma non offerto, mancata spiegazione del territorio in cui ci troviamo e la produzione generale della zona.
Location bella e storica ma non valorizzata.
Prezzo basso (15€ a persona) ma non meritevole come esperienza.

Wir sind spontan auf dieses Restaurant gestossen und haben einen wunderbaren Abend hier verbracht. Die Weinbegleitung zum Menu Degustazione war so gut, dass wir gleich ein paar Flaschen gekauft haben. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet! Und der Service sehr freundlich.

L'abbaye mérite qu'on y jette un œil mais on se déplace sur les hauteurs de Gaiole, au milieu des pins, surtout pour visiter le'ex complexe monastique (Entrée payante et sur réservation, visite d'une grosse demi-heure), les caves de l'exploitation viticole (Les vignes se trouvent plus bas dans la vallée) et le très beau jardin utilisé notamment pour les cours de cuisine des résidents -touristes. Restaurant gastronomique dans le complexe.

This was part of a 3-winery tour that our hostess at Residencia La Ferriera put together for the 5 of us in this mixed party. This was our second stop and the grounds were absolutely amazing. This is also a facility that rents rooms, has a restaurant, and also conducts wine tasting tours.
I could not possibly be more effusive about the abbey/convent that was converted into this business enterprise. For me, I would have spent all that wasted wine-tasting time so I could tour the facility, admiring the 1,000 year old art and frescoes, and enjoying the grounds.
As for the wine: I easily could have passed on that. None of it was that great. Very heavy reds are what they do here. Kind of a waste of my time and their wine. They also market olive oils which I would have preferred (and no doubt bought) but that was not a taste option. I like wine, just not this wine.
The grounds are exceptional, the gardens are among the finest we have had the good fortune to tour. That walk out in the vast landscape offered views and a wonderful Siena/Tuscan experience.

Wine tasting in una splendida struttura medievale dove respirare l’atmosfera del tempo mentre si visitano le cantine.

Bellissima struttura del medioevo.
Staff gentile e cordiale e guide sempre molto disponibili e molto professionali.
Verde molto ampio e accogliente e piscina spaziosa e curata.
Colazione servita e con varietà di tutti i tipi. Pranzi e cene preparati solo con ingredienti a km 0 e vini molto freschi e di qualità.
Adatto a tutte le età.
Prezzi non troppo alti e camere pulite e letti molto comodi.
Offre tour in bicicletta.
Insomma quando dormi a badia a coltibuono stai dormendo nella storia.
Ci sono dei pianoforti dove puoi suonare e
Sale affrescate. Torneremo sicuramente.

Beautiful venue. Our tour was with the winery owner. He provided a great tour of the property and history. Some of the wine we were able to see, dated back 100's of years. The tasting was in one of the rooms. Next door there was a cooking class going on. The courtyard is peaceful place to sit and enjoy a glass (bottle). They do have rooms for rent. Then have dinner in the restaurant.

Costruita dai monaci vallombrosiani nel 1051 come monastero e luogo di culto, la Badia a Coltibuono, letteralmente 'abbazia del buon raccolto', conobbe sotto il patronato di Lorenzo de' Medici un grande sviluppo che protrasse i suoi effetti benevoli fino alle requisizioni napoleoniche. Venduta allora attraverso una lotteria e poi acquistata da un banchiere nel 1846, l'abbazia fu trasformata in azienda agricola nel secondo dopoguerra da Piero Stucchi Prinetti ed è ora guidata dai suoi figli, sesta generazione della famiglia.
Le camere spartane ma spaziose ed accoglienti. La colazione nelle antiche cucine rende tutto ancor più magico.
Il ristorante eccellente, il vino di livello.
Una esperienza a tutto tondo, unendo anche la visita alle cantine.
Non perdetevela!!

This was a really interesting tour with superb wine tasting to finish. Sabrina, our tour guide, who spoke faultless English, gave my husband & I a really interesting and passionate tour of the monastery, cellars and gardens. The frescos were beautiful. The English-style gardens were immaculate.
After the tour we were offered several of their own red wines to taste - all delicious in different ways.
A *must do* wine estate.

Alloggi all' interno di una vecchia abbazia, molto belli e curati . Letti davvero comodi e colazione buona. WiFi scarso nelle camere e segnale cellulare molto scarso
