Routes and Roots was fabulous! They were where they said they would be on time and waiting each and every time! Liz was fabulous to answer all our questions and so patient with us when we made changes. Their prices are the best in the village and they'll do discounts for larger groups. We were treated amazing and had a wonderful time on all our trips! We probably used Routes and Roots at least 5 times on our 7 day trip and never had a bad experience!

Our guides and drivers were all very knowledgeable and considerate with just enough humor thrown in to help us feel comfortable. They were always on time and willing to accommodate special requests. We especially enjoyed our time with Shak (hope that's how he spells it). He was able to answer our many questions and discuss a wide range of topics from history to current events. All were great ambassadors for this beautiful welcoming country.

My wife and I just got back from an amazing honeymoon in Belize, staying in Hopkins. From the moment our driver and guide, Shaka, picked us up from the little airport in Dangriga, we knew that this was going to be a good trip. On the way to our hotel, Shaka was eager to share with us all of the beautiful things in Belize and his passion for the people, flora and culture was inspiring. He was our driver the whole time we were there taking us to our Mayan ruin tour, cave tubing adventure and airport transfers. He is such a great person with a heart of gold and we really enjoyed spending time with him and his family. Everyone knows everyone in Hopkins and it was cool driving around with a local who could wave to anyone walking or riding a bike. Shaka told us stories and shared many beautiful aspects of Belize that you would not get anywhere else! Liz was also exceptional for moving around some of our adventures because of weather and was very good at communicating with us during our trip. Our boat captain and snorkel guide was Biggie, Shaka's uncle, and he picked us up right on the beach for an unforgettable adventure to the barrier reef. AMAZING. That is a must do for anyone taking a vacation to Belize If you are going to Hopkins, Belize, you HAVE to go through Belize Roots and Routes!

Liz provided excellent service while we were vacationing in the Hopkins area. Our group of friends were very grateful for the help she provided and the great advice and recommendations when setting up are different tours. We had a wonderful time at the ATM tours, Mayan ruins, and the transportation her company provided US during our stay. She was great about being flexible and was very kind when we made many changes to our dates and times with little notice. We appreciated how Liz got right back with us regarding any questions that we had and provided great recommendations to save money and experience the best of what Belize had to offer. We will definitely be coming back to vacation in Belize and would recommend others to take advantage of the exceptional service Liz offers. Thanks again Liz and the others on her team that made our stay very special.

Belize you me, I can definitely recommend Belize Roots! Liz was so helpful and friendly in arranging our tours, travel, and really went out of her way! Everything was as promised and planned! Will use them again! Shaka was our guide and driver and awesome!! Thanks so much!!

We used Belize Routes & Roots Tours for our pickup and return to Dangriga airport as well as for several excursions in the area. Service was excellent - the driver, Shaka, was always on time and told us a lot about the local people. We felt very safe in his hands and I would highly recommend him for travel in the Hopkins area. Liz was very responsive and helped us arrange our excursions and enjoy our time in Belize.

First of all, I will have to say that they are very professional. From my initial inquiry to the end of my time, they were responsive, easy to work with, knowledgeable, and helpful. They made my trip Hopkins a memorable trip.
Details, details, details! Initially, I booked a roundtrip shuttle from Belize City to Hopkins for 7 people, 3 of which were children. Shaka, one of the operators, was on time and greated us with fresh coconut water and other beverages. This was pleasant. As we made our way to Hopkins, he occasionally would give us some insight on Belizean culture and landmarks. We also made stops for the bathroom or a store or if wanted to aee something. This made our almost 3 hour ride tolerable.
When we got to our hotel, we decided to book a few tours through them. Liz helped me tremendously! She runs this company and she was great. She went over the tours with us and even was able to facilitate a tour she did not offer (fishing). Plus, we were able to get a discount since we booked 3 tours and a tranfer through them. The rates were much better than those offered through my hotel and private, a big plus.
Overall, contact them if you are going to Hopkins. You won't be mad if you did. Quick suggestion, do the Garifuna Cultural experience if you want a lesson in local culture. Enjoy

My daughter and I arranged a special tour to the Mayan culture trip with the amazing Healer, Aurora Saenz with Routes and roots, We had a very attentive guide, Shaka, who was so much fun and went out of his way to make sure we had a meaningful time. We highly recommend the Routes and Roots, they even arranged our travel back to Belize City.

Liz & Shaka are amazingly wonderful people! At first, I thought Liz's prices were a little steep compared to other packages I had looked into. While spending a birthday trip in Belize, the day before my birthday I decided I wanted to visit a Mayan healer and found the Belize Routes&Roots tours website.
Liz set us up with minimal notice to meet Ms. Aurora, Mayan Healer. Shaka our tour guide was just wonderful! He was friendly, smiley and had such positive energy. He took such good care of my mother and I. We were on a tight timeline and only had a few hours to spend with Ms. Aurora. We were so enchanted by our time with Ms. Aurora and wanted to stay longer and Liz was able to change our flights to give us more time with Ms. Aurora!. Shaka was so amazing and made sure we made it to our flight on time and pointed out so many beautiful landmarks along the drive. We really had no idea what to expect with Ms. Aurora and Shaka really helped put us at ease and it was just so great to share that adventure and experience with him. They are definitely memories, I will never forget and ones that I will cherish. I can't express enough gratitude for Shaka, Liz and their wonderful approach to Belize culture tours.

Kirk with Belize routes and roots met our expectations and much more! This was the first time we rented a car in Belize which he delivered to us at the dangriga airport. He was on time and very professional. He showed us where to get gas, then guided us to our hotel. We booked a cave tubing excersion with Kirk. He was very knowledgeable and a lot of fun to tour with. He made sure our whole family (ages 10 to 55) were enjoying ourselves. He was chalk full of facts about the caves and unlike some other tours I have been on his stories were credible. We saw Kirk around the village several times during our stay and he became not only a great resource we will definitely use again, but also a great friend whom we keep in touch with to this day. I am looking forward to more great times with Kirk when we return next spring. Didn't hesitate to book with Belize routes and roots. Beyond all of our expectations😀👍
