We loved this store! They have all the souvenir items one might expect, along with beautiful and impressive artwork by local artists. I always purchase and send postcards and found cards that I saw nowhere else in Belize. The gentleman who owns the store is absolutely delightful! I visited the store more than once!

Lots of local artists works as well as many souvenir items. I would have bought something had an employee not shadowed me as I moved around the store, as if waiting to catch me stealing something.

Huge gift shop with a/c in Hopkins with a bit of everything! Local chocolate & wine, local artists, and best off all, this stuff called Quit Your Itching…it was a life saver with all the biting bugs.

Such a nice shop, with a great origin story too! They consign local artist’s work as well as stock virtually anything someone visiting Belize could want. I picked up a hard to find Marie Sharp’s hot sauce flavor as well as an amazing dress for my wife. Maximum Respect for Marlon.

Another Trip Advisor recommendation I had to check out. As I was going to Hopkins to purchase bug repellent when I saw the location I was even more curious about stopping in Garimaya.
It is on the main road in Hopkins so it is super easy to find. On our way out of the village, I decided to stop in and see if the Trip Advisor reviews were true.
Oh my were they. This place has every type of gift you can think of all in 1 place. Everything from local artwork and handmade soap to Belizean handmade clothing and shoes.
Since I was not staying in Hopkins and only had my rental car for a few days I only had a short time in this enormous shop. I mostly went just to take videos for my YouTube channel.
The amount of inventory is a bit overwhelming. However, it is beautifully organized, and easy to find tons of real treasures.
When I started looking at the prices I was super shocked in a good way. In most places close to the sea surrounded by luxury hotels and properties the merchandise is usually way overpriced. Not Garimaya!
I was looking at things like jewelry, hair accessories, and clothing. They are not only affordable but fair. Nothing like the pricing in Placencia.
Now that I live quite a ways from Hopkins I am unable to go back, but I plan on making it a priority to go back to Garimaya the next time I get to that part of the country.
Next time I plan on taking my time and purchasing many, many awesome goodies.

So many cute souvenirs to chose from!! The store itself is very big! Nice bike ride from the hotels in Hopkins; we stayed at Jaguar Reef. Items are well priced! Make sure to stop by if you are in Hopkins!

We wanted artwork made by people in Belize. This store has a large selection of paintings/carvings by local artists. The employees do follow you around, but I am sure there is a fair amount of theft because there are a lot of easily pocketed items and no survailence, so I felt it was understandable. Also, there is a fee for using a card, but again very common in the area as stores are charged a large fee for processing.

You can get the finest wine, best cultural clothing and there are so many wonderful items that are Belizean made. My family got matching bracelets that are stunning. We loved almost everything and will be back to purchase more lovely items.
