Fuimos SIN tener reserva (nuestro error) , en época de temporada baja. El local no estaba lleno aunque explicaron q estaban esperando a personas locales (dueños de restaurantes y bodegas aparentmente). Pedimos esperar por si alguno no llegaba y poder hacer las degustaciones. Nos respondieron “ellos ya deberian estar aqui” pero no llegaban. Insistimos en esperar por si no llegaban y ocupar esos lugares y nos respondieron “esta no es temporada de turistas y ni siquierq estamos vestidos adecuadamente para recibirles”.
La verdad las personas q estaban haciendo y terminando sus degustaciones hablaban francés e inglés por lo q MUY probablemente eran turistas. No nos sentimos bienvenidos ni sentimos q quieran encontrar una solución. Una pena...
Luego fuimos a otra bodega q nos recibió con los brazos abiertos ♥️

Io e il mio ragazzo siamo capitati nel podere un po' per caso, girando in macchina nella zona di Sant'Antimo. Lui conosceva già il loro vino Lupi e Sirene e per curiosità siamo voluti andare a visitare la cantina. Nonostante non avessimo prenotato e i ragazzi avessero già in programma altre visite, hanno fatto il possibile per farci assaggiare i loro vini e portarci in vigna e in cantina, con una spiegazione chiara e sintetica dei processi di produzione. Oltre all'estrema disponibilità e cortesia (solitamente fanno visite su prenotazione), abbiamo apprezzato il taglio giovanile del progetto, la produzione di nicchia di ottimi vini e la filosofia del biodinamico. Complimenti e in bocca al lupo per i vostri progetti!

Una de las mejores experiencias durante mi viaje madre/hijo a la Toscana. La atención de Chiara fue estupenda, profesional y amena. La vista durante el tasting es insuperable, el espacio acogedor e íntimo. La visita por los viñedos biodinámicos y la impresionante bodega de procesamiento en espiral nos fascinó. Gracias!

Great experience, our guide from Arco was very knowledgable and patient and even gave is a discount on our purchase. All the staff was professional and answered all our questions. We went with our 6 yo and 9yo kids and they were also captivated. The wine tasting was great, not rushed and paired with bread and olive oil. We would definitely recommend it

As this is a rather new winery, they need to find a competitive edge. Their vineyards are split over two locations, East and West of Montalcino. The visit and tasting center is located in the South-East of Montalcino. To get there is already an adventure on its own, as you need to follow a beautiful strada bianche with views over the valley and the wineries, and with some steep and narrow descents (which means you need to get back uphill via the same roads).
The main differentiation with the neighbor wineries is the fact that they make their wine according to biodynamic principles (e.g. keep the use of chemicals as limited as possible). For their exclusive bonsai wine, the density of the vineyards is very high to generate more competition so that the roots will go deeper. This will give smaller grapes but with a different exclusive taste. The wine cellar is also special and very cool using an intelligent system. They want that the wine is tasting more fruity than oaky so the time in oak is limited and they even use concrete barrels for aging.
The tasting was done in a tasting room with a view over the valley. For 40 euro we could taste 6 wines (for 30 euro more you can get a 7th namely the bonsai wine). The volumes we got where – like they say themselves – not enough to get you drunk (it could indeed have been a bit more) but it gives a good idea of the range of wines they offer. The first orange wine (Canna Torta) was good and refreshing (but already costs 40 euro). The blend (sangiovese + syrah) was not so special, but the Rosso di Montalcino and the two Brunello di Montalcino’s were very competitive. All in all, we enjoyed our visit but it could all have been a little bit more. We had the feeling they are targeting exclusivity (club members only) and that’s a pity.

Although we were staying in Chianti and had many lovely wineries close to our home base, we have long been fans of Brunello and thus planned a trip to the Montalcino region. This particular winery is known for its unique approaches—from letting a animals roam freely throughout the vineyards and building the cellar without any iron support so not to change the energy fields to having the most densely planted vines in the world for its “Bonsai” offering—while we also enjoyed sampling the winery’s offerings on the lovey tasting patio overlooking the valley. Moreover, the wine that we purchased shipped and arrived just as promised!

Abbiamo passato un bel momento nel Podere del Ripi, la visita era molto interessante e i vini buonissimi. Ancora grazie a tutta la team per aver ritrovato il mio cellulare ! Siete i migliori ;)

Tive uma experiência decepcionante com a minha esposa nessa vinícola. Optamos por fazer o tour e a degustação mais completos, que, em tese, durariam aproximadamente duas horas. No entanto, a visita e a degustação foram feitas de forma bastante apressada e descuidada, não durando mais do que 01 hora. Além disso, notamos que os preços dos vinhos vendidos na vinícola eram significativamente superiores aos preços dos mesmos vinhos vendidos na cidade e inclusive comentamos isso com a atendente. Chegamos na vinícola cheios de expectativas e com a intenção de comprar no local os seus principais vinhos, mas acabamos saindo de lá sem nenhum por conta de tudo isso. Foi a única vinícola que nos deixou com essa sensação ruim, dentre as várias que visitamos em Montalcino, Montepulciano e Bolgheri.

I can't say enough good things about this place. It is truly off the beaten path so don't be alarmed as the directions take you deep down a gravel dirt road. The suddenly you turn right and there is this beautiful round brick edifice that represents the unique nature of this winery. The staff were great, the wines were great, we enjoyed the entire experience and would recommend it to anyone.

As the previous replies indicate, some do not require and appt and you can just drive up. Others (the smaller, more boutique wineries will need an appt). Just depends on what you are interested in visiting. Cheers!
