In October we had two Vespas, a digital map and activities booked with Motoragazzi. We had been looking forward to it for a long time and had high expectations, partly thanks to the many positive reviews we had read online. But upon arrival we were immediately refused, simply because according to them we had insufficient experience, especially after we had indicated that we did not want to take out additional insurance with them.
It's a shame we never got the chance to show our skills or even take it for a test drive.
We were forced to do the planned activities by car (since we paid for everything in advance), which significantly diminished the whole experience.
A week later we contacted Motoragazzi and asked to refund the money for the Vespas, a total of 140 euros. We are entitled to this under various European and Italian consumer laws. Unfortunately, Motoragazzi has informed us that they will not be commenting on this. Instead we were offered a voucher to come back next year on the condition that we take lessons. However, we have no intention of responding to this, and we continue to ask for our money to be refunded.
Since their initial response, despite another attempt to make contact via email, we have received no further response from Motoragazzi to date.
It's disappointing that despite our legal right to a refund, they simply ignore us.
By the way, when you leave a positive review with Motoragazzi they give a bottle of wine as a gift. Understandably, some people might be tempted to give five stars because of tricks like this. But we will never visit Motoragazzi again.
And as the man in the business himself suggested, we are more likely to rent a Vespa elsewhere, where we will hopefully receive better and fairer service.
