All Ages Will Enjoy This Gem

What a fantastic place! We visited as a family (parents 70+, me 40+, daughter 10) and there really is something for everyone to enjoy. The aquarium was really good, lots of facts to read and beautiful fish to see. The hologram display was brilliant, a real treat for the eyes and so much fun. The new illuminated area is just breathtaking. Infinite lights above and below, a true new experience and one I'd recommend to all.

'Illuminate' at Matlock Bath Aquarium

Fantastic place and the new 'Illuminate' experience is unbelievable. Never seen anything like it, the kids were mesmerised.

Large victoriana building that now houses an aquarium that is priced at £3.80 each. Cheap but nice to see. This is part of an amusement arcade with a carpark almost opposite

Cheap quick activity

Cute place, kinda worried for some of the fish. Prices were good and the photography exhibition was very fun. Nice quick family activity

£3.80 per person to enter is reasonable value as there is a petrifying well, aquarium, hologram exhibition and outdoor pool with koi. Not worth paying 50p to feed the koi as they were not interested, probaly well fed! The whole place could do with an uplift although it's an easy way to spend some time.

This aquarium has an old Victorian swimming pool full of fish that you can feed for 50p! I have never seen anything like that in any aquarium I have ever visited. They also have around 20 smaller tanks and 5 large pools with fish, turtles and other sea life. It's not a massive establishment like sea life but big enough to walk around for about 30 mins at a steady pace reading all about the fish. You really can't go wrong with an entry price of just 3.80! Well worth the experience I would pay up to 10 pounds for entry it was that unique and good. The aquarium it's self is attached to a large arcade so I think most of the revenue comes from the arcade allowing the aquarium to be so cheap! Would recommend to anyone!

Enjoyable visit. Great Fish

Enjoyable walk around this place. Lots to read and loads of fish to watch. Some good specimens.
To see the old swimming pool and the history was fantastic. Matlock Bath is such a great place.
When you come out of the place you are straight in the amusement arcade. Made me laugh.

Fantastic little place.

Fantastic little aquarium & arcade.
Maybe not the place for older children, but our 2yr old absolutely loved it.
We spent about an hour walking around the aquarium & exhibits. Could easily have spent another hour in the arcade!!

Just how I remembered it..

Good visit

Went here with my teenage children, price is good and fair for what you see. Small place, but interesting to see fishes and spa and we enjoyed the visit. Spent about one hour looking around, which is good value in todays world and affordable for familys.
