Lovely museum full of some really interesting things , rooms set out to fully show items to their best advantage to give a good feel to everything and a really interesting and full display of Hornsea pottery , well worth a visit

We arrived at 3.30, mid afternoon to be told that they shut at 4.00 and last admission was at 3.00!! What sort of enterprise is it that, at the height of the tourist season, August, closes at 3.00pm. I could not believe it, the museum must lose countless admission fees so I suggest last admission in summer of 5.00 pm and closure at 6.00pm
After visiting Spurn Head we had driven up the coast especially to visit this museum in Hornsea but on discovering its anti-visitor opening policy we found that Hornsea has little else to commend it.

We went as something to do in Hornsea. We were pleasantly surprised by the museum. From the outside it doesn’t look like it’s going to be very big. We paid about £15 for 2 adults and 1 child. Staff were friendly and explained as we went in. They gave our 6 year old a hunt for the mice which he enjoyed. Lots of interesting exhibits and goes a deceptively long way back. Enjoyed playing with the old toys in the playroom. Worth the money.

We visited the museum primarily to view the Hornsea pottery display which was interesting, some familiar designs and some we had not seen before. Other areas of the museum were interesting too.

We wanted to see the pottery museum and had not realised the amazing size and scope of the whole museum! An absolute gem! We ended up staying 2 hours but could have stayed longer, (we travelled home that day after a week in Hornsea). Extremely interesting and well set out museum - well worth a visit and excellent value for money. The timeline storyboards were very well done - I loved the toy time line. The World Wars room was particularly poignant given that it was the week of the 80th Anniversary of D-Day.

Displays superb examples of historic Hornsea Pottery. Many other interesting items. A memorable museum. An enjoyable museum. Best to visit on a sunny day, to also enjoy the open areas and garden.

Really good if you like history. This place is voluntary run, so there is a small charge of £5 per person, but trust me it is worth it. Lots of things to do if you have children or if your a couple.

So much bigger than we expected. So much to see plus the extensive Hornsea Pottery display. Excellent value for money.

The museum was very interesting. Exhibits were very good and informative. It was nice looking back on Hornsea Pottery, some beautiful pieces

We spent a very enjoyable morning at the museum while we were on holiday. We were very impressed with the exhibits and not a speck of dust in sight. The staff obviously take good care to ensure the exhibits are well looked after. Lots of information available and we thoroughly enjoyed the few hours we spent here. The staff were really polite and friendly.

Is the museum now reopen with the current could situation we a visiting hornsea soon and would love to go here if it's open

Sorry but dogs, are not admitted ( guide dogs are of course ).
We have a family of mice but not sure that they would be able to entertain visitors!
