The owner is very knowledgeable, and provides a brilliant service. I wanted some cyanotypes framing, which need to be done with museum quality bleach free board, etc. He sourced and priced this out for me so I knew what to expect, and framed them beautifully. I am very impressed with his work and will certainly use Southgate Studio for all of my future framing needs.

I took some embroidered postcards in to ask about framing them. Nothing was too much trouble and Stephen was very patient with me as I couldn’t decide on colours for the mounting and frame! When I picked them up I was so emotional. What a fantastic job, they look stunning. Thank you so much.

Went in to have some photos copied. What fantastic service. Very friendly and helpful. Good prices. Very happy with end result. Fabulous place. Lots of different and unique gifts. Highly reccomend. Will be back.

I had asked my other half to call in and have some prints done of designs and drawings, the owner could not have been more helpful. Gave us lots of information and carried out the work whilst I was at a class so it did not take long, even though they were obviously under some pressure, couldn't be more pleased with the help I received earlier too in respect of printing sizes etc. Well done and Thank you for a great job. Lovely shop and lots to see and purchase if you find that special something!

I would like to thank Stephen and Linda for their wonderful help recently. I had an awful lot of paintings which needed framing for an exhibition. Not only did Stephen make a superb job, he gave me lots of helpful advice for future artwork. He did not charge me a fortune and they were both so friendly. I had no idea such a place existed until I needed them. I sold 7 paintings and without them, this would not have been possible. I have never written on trip advisor before but felt, after such excellent service, compelled to do so.

Looked round shop when visiting. Selection of goods but not enough to make a purchase. Staff not the friendliest.

We are sorry you feel your experience of visiting us did not meet your expectations. The selection of gifts we stock are indeed varied and many are unique and hand crafted etc. We are not about volume stock as we are primarily a picture framing shop with studio. Some of our pieces may not be on show especially when we are re-arranging displays. We pride ourselves on being approachable and friendly and greet all when they come in. It is our customer policy to go the extra mile to try and keep all our customers happy and attended to. If our customers stay in the studio long enough, we always offer to assist if required, however we are also mindful that some customers prefer to be left to browse quietly without interruption. I am sorry we failed to impress you on this occasion.

Bought a print of a local scene and also had it framed at The Southgate Studio. Chose print unexpectedly at the start of a day's walk - not great with rucksacks! Got great advice on mounts and frame styles, etc. We were only in the area for a day but were able to collected print early evening same day. It looks wonderful in our home and we would definitely recommend The Southgate Studio.

Popped in for a look and was amused at the collection, not what we thought at all you need to go inside to really see the best.

Wanting a special photo framed, the owner very carefully adivsed me on backing, frame and glass to use. As this was a rather large print he even offered to deliver it to my address also. Very skilled in knowledge. May not be one of the cheapest around - however both prints we now have had from here are exceedingly well done and we were even given the hooks to put on the wall with! :) Nice shop to with ornaments and unusual art, cards etc
