Thanks, Ruby, for leading our tour of the site where Canadian citizens of Japanese ancestry were sent during WW2. We gained understanding of what those Canadians endured at the hands of their own government then. A part of history to recognize and remember.

Not very big but if in the area, for us a must visit site. An often overlooked aspect of WW2. Come and be educated about the treatment of what were, in many cases, Canadian citizens. Well laid out, especially the large hall in chronological order.

Learned so much visiting here. Wish there was more to purchase to remember our visit here. I was not aware that this happened to our Canadian Japanese people back in WW2.

Had been hoping to visit this site for a decade as my father had been interned there before being sent to Angler POW camp in Ontario. Lots of great information and wish it was larger but enjoyed seeing the buildings and belongings Sad reminder of our history

A small museum tour that shares the story of the Japanese- Canadian experience during the war. It is an incredible story that all Canadians should be aware of, and the information here is easily shared and well laid out for a good understanding. The site was handled with good COVID measures - one way to walk through the site and most of it is outside. Would be interesting to have programs to learn more and be able to ask questions. Appreciate the sharing of this important part of the past.

This is a must stop at while travelling through New Denver or for anyone that would like to learn more about the internment of Japanese Canadians during WWII. This was my first exposure to this history outside of school and I am so glad I came here to start my learning. See the living spaces, artifacts and original structures to learn and honour the stores of the Japanese Canadians that were stripped of their rights. There is a cost but it’s well worth it, the staff were informative and lots of information signage to guide your learning. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the displays are true to life.

A sombre and complete look at the injustice conducted by the Canadian government on its own citizens. A lot of exhibits and original buildings from real internment centres that were throughout the province during and after WW2. Museums like this should be promoted more heavily so we never repeat mistakes of the past.

This is a very informative experience which documents the internment of Japanese Canadians during WWII. Part of the camp still remains and holds displays and information. Walk through the original buildings and remember this part of our history.

Loved our visit here, very informative and beautiful. The Nikkei Internment Memorial Center is well maintained. Overall great experience and worth the stop to learn about Canada's history.
