Came to Australia for the Boxing Day Test, as a matter of fact, my whole trip was planned around the match. Days 1-3 were great, with little in the way of problems, but Day 4 was a whole different story.
Children were allowed to run up and down the aisle steps all day long without parental supervision. My disabilities were disregarded when I was told by security and other MCG staff that I should move to a section with the drum that came to the match later in the day, after I paid almost $90 for the seats that I had obtained. The drum was so loud that I had to take out my hearing aids to stop the pain. It was a joke to the MCG staff, and it was my issue to solve.
Why pay for tickets to an event and hope to enjoy it when the MCG allows chaos to interfere with something I purchased.
Thanks to your staff, Day 4 is the lasting impression I have of the MCG.

The MCG is one of the greatest grounds in the world and has such an amazing history. The ground is made up of a number of grandstands including the Olympic stand (my regular spot), the great southern stand (which will be renamed the Warne Stand), ponsford stand (named after the champion cricketer) and the MCC members stand. It’s definitely worth getting there early to walk around and explore the statues around ground. At half time a lot of people get pass outs and having a kick of footy in Yarra park.
TRANSPORT: you can get a train to Jolimont (500m walk) or Richmond. Trams go to swan st or get off at the tennis centre. On Wellington parade get off at the Hilton

For the first time ever, the Australian Football League (AFL) grand final will not be held at the MCG. Due to the coronavirus lockdown, it will be held in Brisbane. The Queenslanders will be enthusiastic but it won't be the same as 100,000 fans baying for blood. We can only hope that, for the sake of cricket fans, the legencary Boxing Day Test is sn ot called off, as well.

At this time, we are walking daily, and this is a wonderful place to go. Plenty of space and shade.
You can access Yarra Park from Wellington Parade East Melbourne, Punt Rd Richmond or from Brunton Ave Jolimont.
Certain areas are permitted for dog walking but some people walk their dogs off leash throughout, which is a worry - when a large dog jumps on you unprovoked.

The biggest cricketing battle of the summer starts on Boxing Day, when Australia traditionally takes on the overseas visitors at the MCG.. For a batsman, facing an express pace bowler hurling a cricket ball at over 100 miles per hour (145 kms/hr) takes some courage. This year, the opponents are Black Caps (New Zealand). No-one doubts their courage, but on the bumpy Australian wickets, they may not quite have tthe right technique. For Australian cricketers, wearing the Baggy Green cap is the highest honour. Australia is on the comeback trail after a rough patch, it's bad luck that the Black Caps that they have caught the Aussies at their best. See a game at the MCG if you can, there's still viewing space to be had.

Please always add room numbers - good or bad reviews - this would make it so simple for new comers to pick the right room - useless stating room noisy, stank of smoke , poor view , lumpy beds or pillows, etc etc

Watched Oz versus Sri Lanka in an international T20. good organisation, good access to bars. Good atmosphere and layout. Memorable.

The MCG is located next to the CBD and is easily accessible by train, tram, foot or car. It is well served by friendly and efficient staff unlike similar stadia around Australia. The viewing areas are excellent and one can choose to sit under cover or in the open. Eating and toilet facilities are abundant. The history of the area adds to its aura. It is truly the peoples ground.
