Elphinstone Point is the First view point one can see when you are travelling towards old Mahabaleshwar road. This view point is named after Mount Stuart Elphinstone the then Governor of Bombay Presidency. This is situated at an altitude of 1230 meters. Beauty of this point is two valleys with rivers Koyna on the left and Savitri on the right can be seen from this point.
Highlights of this Point:
1. It is said that this is origin point of River Savitri. Elphinstone point is originally discovered by Dr. Murray in 1830.
2. One can see Pratap gad fort crystal clear view from this point.
3. You can feel yourself in the lap of mother nature in the surroundings of this ideal spot.
4. Elphinstone point has a perfect backdrop of photography. If you have photography passion then Elphinstone point offers you several memorizing views.

This is a place that would simply take your breath away. An absolutely beautiful and stunning view point that offers unbelievable sight of lush green Western Ghats range, covered with clouds. This looks like heaven in rains. You have to trek down around 100 steps from the parking to experience one of the most stunning moments!!!

If you are expect to sea stone elephant then don't come here.Here guides are available only to misguide you. Don't trust on cab drivers.No anti gravity things at Arthur's point.if you are really a hillstation lover then you must go to meghalaya.1000times better than these hill stations.Here on the name of view points peoples are looting money.it should be known as monkey point.

The point offers best views and can be reached after getting down 50 steps . not much of shade though like Aurther point so gets hot in the sun in afternoon

Mahabaleshwar has several view points but each view point has it's own unique offering. What you get to see from Elphinstone point is a great view of Pratapgarh fort and valleys of river Koyna and Savitri. The cliffs looks majestic. The rivers were dry but their beds were clearly visible.

This is very good point, however monkeys are very active over here, they can attack on your spaces or goggles. Be aware and do not offer any food to them. Overall a good point to visit in Mahabaleshwar.

The Place is like Elephant, The trunk is visible in the mountains, this place is one of the highest points in Mahabaleshwar. The place is amazing, nature has so many places where you can go and relax, this point is one of them.

I went early morning and there was mist and perfect view. Also the route to reach this point is perfect. Old Mahabaleshwar road through dense forest. I even saw deer on the way to this point.

Generally this place is visited after the rains.

What all preperations should be done before going to Elphinstone point so that my grandparents too can enjoy the place .?

Ohh, It's long walk & considering road condition it's not advisable if grandparent have any walking problem! But if they can walk, then slowly you can proceed. Most of point in Mahabaleshwar involve walking specially these all points to view.
