My husband and I went to this beach on 1/8/2025. It is a beautiful setting. However, we were very disappointed that the security guard would not allow us to pay our daily fee to park and enter because an employee of the islands’ government who manages the beach, had not come to work on time. Several cars ahead of us gave up and left. After arriving at 9 AM opening time we also left after a 45 minute wait. We parked by the Kiosks and ultimately got into the beach with some difficulty. Much to our surprise we learned that someone at the gate accused some of the people who got tired of waiting of trying to enter without paying the $4.00 parking fee which greatly added to our dissatisfaction with the customer service or lack thereof.

Really nice beach - glad to have bathrooms available (note they are closed in Mondays and Tuesdays) and chairs and umbrellas for rent. Water is very calm and clear and beach is very clean. It was crowded but in a fun way and certainly no more crowded than beaches we’ve been to in the Northeast and Florida. Parking was $4 (free on Mondays and Tuesdays when the facilities are closed) and bathrooms were $2 per person for the whole day (you get a wristband). They had food and drinks stands and you can also walk to the kiosks down the beach.

Perfect way for handicap visitors to enjoy the beach Sand wheelchairs are free of charge and the people are so friendly and helpful. If you’re unable to walk this is a must stop in Puerto Rico

Absolutely stunning beach! Not crowed at all, but it is October. Beautiful waters and the temperature was perfect. Highly recommend this beach!

Luquillo beach is very beautiful. Blue waters that are so clear and clean. Water was so warm,it was amazing!! Numerous vendors and experiences like jet ski and paddle boat rentals.

It’s a shame that a beautiful beach isn’t well maintained.
The beach itself is beautiful but the surrounding area is a shame.
The beach has plenty of partying, loud music, smoke from marijuana, booze. I saw numerous people drinking from glass bottles. How can that be allowed on a beach.
No public bathrooms. Trash, empty bottles, cans, drink cups from the day before was still in the kiosk area. It was unkept.
The grass wasn’t cut. No landscaping. You would think they would clean this up.
80 kiosks that all sell the same food and souvenirs.
I would never recommend it.
We went to another beach in San Juan that was much nicer.

We stayed in a house located right near Luquillo and decided it to visit one of the beaches. What an amazing decision this ended up to be. The parking was straightforward: you’d drive up to a booth, hand a worker your money, and find a spot. There were places to rinse off on the property if you had sand still stuck to you after leaving the beach. The waters were a gorgeous turquoise, and the sand was a soft tan. It is a very child friendly beach meaning the waves are almost nonexistent (at least when we were there in May). The sand was incredibly soft. There are umbrella rentals... so do not fret if you forgot your own. Personally, this is one of the best beaches I have been to in Puerto Rico. I 100% recommend this to anyone in the area of Luquillo.

If you want to visit one of Puerto Rico's best beaches - look no further than Playa Luquillo. Enjoy lovely views and try some of the best frituras the island can offer from Luquillo's legendary kioskos.

Beautiful beach 🏖️ We went on a day the concessions were not open but had a great time. Water is so clear and calm. This beach seemed to have more locals than tourist which made it a perfect trip off the beaten path.

Warm waters beautiful scenery but sad to see beaches aren’t appreciated by locals many trash straws, bottle caps, plastic all over the beach sand and floating in water.

Hello, the various food kiosks are alongside the parking lot and the beach runs along the back of all the food kiosks. Do not recall seeing Ramos, however it is all flat land and do not see any issue for a wheelchair.

To be honest, I don't recall it being netted off. It was a very large beach and you had you choice of many places to go.

Hi, we were there back in October 2015 and enjoyed the food kiosiks and the beautiful beach. Did anything survive the hurricanes from Maria and Irma?

Closest place to this beach that you can parasail? Rent jet skis? Kayaks? Ty! Looking forward to our July trip.

I traveled around the whole Northern Coast from east to west and not once did I see any parasailing. Some people were kite surfing in Condado, but that's the closest thing that I saw. Kayaking is most often done around Bio Bay, on the east coast of the island where you can see Algae glow at night if the conditions are right (which they were not when I was there). I did not notice any Jet Ski's either.
