Our guide was so kind, knew everything (not just the history but stories, too), and the place is just amazing. I will definitely come back with more of my tourists.

Although we are originally from co. Wexford and had visited the Hook hundreds of times, we had never taken a tour of the actual lighthouse itself. It was simply amazing! The history, the vista, the structure were fascinating but the whole tour hinged on our guide. Noel, and he was a star. He got to know everyone's names and where they were from and his wit and humour kept all entertained. There was nothing he couldn't answer and although he must give that tour hundreds of times a year, he had such energy and fun, we could have easily turned around and done the tour again! Hook Head is so worth a visit... but make sure Noel is working tgat day!

We did not partake in any tour since it was a cool, foggy, drizzly day we visited. Nice cafe and information center with plenty of parking. Is it the oldest lighthouse in the world? I’d like to think so.

Just incredible. My partner (history) & I (physics) absolutely loved it, tour exceeded expectations. Tour guide tailored to our interests and made it so personable. Could not recommend more. Undeniably incredible!

We were fortunate to visit on a beautiful sunny day. The scenery is worth the drive alone. Plan to leave yourself enough time to explore the lighthouse and the surrounding area.

This place is a bit out of the way but well worth the drive. Our guide Jon was very enjoyable with his many stories. It was amazing to see a lighthouse that has been in use for more than 800 years. The views from the top are beautiful. If you want to get some nice views of the lighthouse, stop on your way north and hike down to some of the rocky beaches.

Tracy was an excellent guide. She knows all the events surrounding the site selection, construction, operation, and maintenance of the lighthouse. We were fortunate enough to observe the "Race to the South" water event. This edifice is a world treasure.

Do you need to book tickets (family of 4) in advance or can they be bought at the door? Just not sure of our arrival time so don't want to be under pressure to make a dedicated time slot - thanks!

There are picnic benches on the grounds of the Lighthouse and I think you can have a picnic there. I dont think they allow you to bring your own food inside the cafe which is fair enough

YES dogs are welcome but not in Cafe area ,, due to food and health restrictions .. be careful if you go walking on the rocks at the back of the Lighthouse as rocks are slippy and the sea comes gushing through various cracks and might catch you out.

We had our 17 month old son with us tour lasts an hour and you climb steps up in light house , children are more than welcome

How much dos it cost? Is it suitable for family's with autistic children - is ther a lot of cuing and noise?
Is there picnic places where you can have lunch with toilet's. ?

I cannot remember the cost but it did not stand out as expensive.
My Mum Iin law changed her mind about the lighthouse tour because of the steps and her money was refunded without us even asking.
Thère is lots of outside space & picnic tables for your children including the autistic child.
You will have to judge whether the internal lighthoyse space is too close proximity for your autistic child as it depends in what cause their sensory arousal
I hope your whole family get to enjoy an outing there as muchbas we did.

I'd venture to say dogs would be fine. It's more or less a park. I believe I had seen someone when a dog there when I visited. The lighthouse is historic and the views are great. It's a small gift shop and Cafe. The rest is outdoors. I say take him.

Don't want any answers. Having been there recently I want to review the lighthouse. Not sure if I did a review before but now want to do it through the eyes of my grandchildren who had a super time.
