Visit the castle Guiraud on a Sunday afternoon
We were only 8 people in all, which made it possible to have an intimate visit / tasting ideal.
The organization was great with first tasting a glass of dry white before going out to see the vineyard our glasses in hand.
Then very informative video and visit the cellars very well commented by the Guide.
Finish with the tasting of the little Guiraud then the grand cru allowed us to leave with flavors full our taste buds.
We had lunch beforehand at Cercle Guiraud which is a wonderfully good restaurant with a very friendly welcome.

Bei unserem Sauternes-Besuch haben wir auch Château Guirod besucht. Wir wurden sehr nett bedient und konnten sogar noch je eine Flasche mit den Jahrgängen unserer Kinder kaufen (1996 und 1998).

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the vineyard. Our guide was incredibly informative and we learned a lot of Sauternes wines; from the harvesting process to the pressing and fermenting stages, our guide Laurence educated us and helpfully answered all our questions. A definite highlight of our trip to the Bordeaux region!

Quand tu te tapes 170 km pour venir visiter un château ouvert 7j/7 et que tu découvres une feuille sur la porte d'accueil qui indique sauf les dimanches.
Bref, les comptes sont pas bons Guiraud !

We dined on the terrace on a beautiful spring day.
The surroundings are impeccable and the restaurant building really interesting. The food choices were really good/ we shared the veal chop which was very good but defeated us, quality is fantastic. Really good Sauternes and lavender cocktail which is worth hunting down. Off to the tasting room following lunch for more treats. Guiraud wine is top drawer and rekindled a love of desert wine.

Great wine tasting experience in a wonderful setting. Our host Flavien was exceptional. The fact that we were the only 2 that turned up for this tour made it feel like a personalised tour. Great wine, great surroundings what more can you want.

La salle d'accueil joliment décorée pourrait vous faire croire que le reste de la visite est du même niveau. Ce n'est pas le cas, le chais assez petit ne vous laissera pas un souvenir inoubliable. Quelques cuves inox et des barriques souvent vides semblent posées là pour la décoration. Pas de cave, vous ne verrez aucune bouteille !
Les seules bouteilles que vous verrez sont celles de la dégustation si vous avez payé le supplément pour 3 millésimes à choisir dans une liste donnée (les meilleurs millésimes n'y sont pas !). La quantité de vin servie pour la dégustation est ridicule, un fond de verre ! Bref pour 30€ c'est vraiment se moquer du monde.
A noter cependant la bonne prestation du guide conférencier qui sait de quoi il parle et a su animer cette piètre visite.

Fuimos a comer con unos amigos.
El sitio es precioso y esta muy bien decorado.
El personal muy amable a pesar de que iban un poco desbordados.
La comida muy buena.

Dégustation sur le thème Sauternes Château Guiraud (le vin blanc sec, le 2eme vin, puis le Château Guiraud sur 3 millésimes: 1996/2010/2002).
Visite intéressante du château même si nous été déçus de la qualité des installations, notamment le chai de vieillissement, indigne selon nous d’un premier cru classé comme Guiraud.
Belle dose de caviar, commentaires intéressants du guide.
Parking avec bornes de recharge électrique, restaurant dans l’enceinte du château.
