The statue comes from the Pythagorean theorem ( a^2+b^2=c^2). You should look at it before leaving when you visit Samos.

Nice Photo Op

Visit the founder of Triangle theory

Lovely walk around the port to visit this statue to celebrate the famous mathematician who did triangles.

Pythagoras was a Greek philosopher who made important developments in mathematics, astronomy, and the theory of music. The theorem now known as Pythagoras's theorem was known to the Babylonians 1000 years earlier but he may have been the first to prove it.

A wonderful statue

A nice statue right in the harbor area of Pythagoreon on the breakwater. Next door is a children's playground and many nice restaurants. It's worth a visit.

Pythagoras moneument

Interesting monument seaside in Pythagoreio honoring Pythagoras. We visited his cave earlier in the day which was also interesting. It would be nice to have more signage describing the significance of the features of the monument. Many local children were playing around the monument as the playground is nearby.
