Not for families - don’t go with kids

Putting this review on here to make it clear to families that children are not welcome at this bar. There’s even a sign saying so inside. We walked for half an hour to find this “British” pub hoping to find some friendly faces and a decent drink to chill and watch the football but was told to leave the pram outside (that’s fine it’s tiny inside) my 1 year old son accidentally knocked a chair and the owner told us to get out as it “isn’t right” 🤣🤣 the regulars in the bar loved our son and was playing with him and and even asked us where we were going when we left! went to Lilly’s bar (also English) and total opposite even had toys for the kids great atmosphere.

Fair enough if you don’t want kids in the small bar like that and only regulars just putting this on here to save people a wasted journey. If your going as a couple with no kids would probably recommend 👍🏼

Great food, great beer, great for sports

I went with 2 teen daughters. We had 7 tapas in total (about 6 less than planned but were too full) and 4 drinks for under €20. Hope the foto below reflects the high quality of presentation in accompanying salads, coleslaw etc. In addition to VFM the place was spotless and also great for sport with multiple TVs showing variety sports. Superb spot

Wonderful Tapas & friendly atmosphere

Chaplins have always served very good British food at incredibly low prices. Since Lockdown they have also started doing tapas. The tapas in question have prompted me to do a review. We had heard how good they were but we were still genuinely surprised at just how good they are. There is a wonderful selection to please all tastes and the quality & quantity of each is excellent. We have now worked out way through most of the list and haven’t found a single weak dish. Great bar run by lovely people who go that extra mile in ensuring you enjoy your time there. If you are in Roquetas, your missing out if you don’t put Chaplins on your list of places to visit. You won’t be disappointed.

English Bar catering for expats.

Not the largest of bars but great if you are looking for an English bar in Roquetas De Mar,
We went on the day England lost the rugby so people had been in early to watch that game and then stay on for the English Premier League football which had two different games showing on two televisions,
As a Scottish couple we were not overly interested in the rugby result or the Premier League Football so I guess we picked the wrong day to visit, but if you are into that then you'll enjoy it.

Great night Out!

We had a great night, there were shows that we had already watched previously in our hotel but we still thoroughly enjoyed visiting again. Bon Jovi and Witches were fantastic and lovely cocktails too! Worth a visit!

Good fish and chips and Quiz on Friday nights

General knowledge and Picture Quiz on a Friday night, filled in the evening with a bit of light entertainment. Really is worth booking a table if you want to go for fish and chips before quiz

Best Sunday roast on the island

I went all inclusive in Mediterranean Park and wished I checked in to a hotel near the bar.

For me it was heaven strongbow by the can, quality Sunday roast, live sports on TV, aircon and friendly staff. Not to mention great price

It's a 5 minute walk from the beach front.

The hotel I stayed in was 25 minutes but topped up the tan with a leisurely stroll and had a great meal at brilliant price.

If you get chance to visit get down for the strongbow alone 👍🏻

My husband and I visit Almeria every year as do my extended family,I have never been here before but what a find tucked away down a side street this place serves well cooked hot food we will be back on Friday for your fish and chips.
