A totally Hidden secert

we enjoyed this beautiful park bridges along with the trees make a thick canopy of trees and a lovely peaceful walk bridges are narrow we stopped and let a family with a pram walk on a head but a excellent well kept place

Easy to lose yout way.

This is not a hug epark but it is quite large and in the city centre. We first accessed it from the camping ground to try to get into town. Lovely walk down to the suspension bridge but once we got to the place where we could see buildings we cold not work out where to go. We did find our way into the main street eventually. Later we took more than one of the bush walks and found we had gone in different directions. A lot packed into the space. Really enjoyed seeing the river.

Wonderful short and long river walks

This is a must if you're staying locally or travelling through. Lovely gardens and forest with well cared for walks along the river. Great for a short walk or couple of hours if you have the time. And it's free.

Very Poignant

We went to see the memorial and information about a soldier called Malone killed at Gallipoli.
Lovely setting, nice tribute to a very courageous man.

Ein Spaziergang durch diesen Park lohnt sich wenn man die Zeit "verbrauchen" muss. Er ist gut angelegt und startet in der Nähe des Visitor Center. Wenn ihr Zeit habt könnt ihr auch noch beim Sportzentrum den Sportclubs beim Training zuschauen.

River walks

The best part of the park is the walks along the river. The surfaces are good, but some bridges might be too narrow for some wheelchairs. The thick forest canopy overhead makes you think you are far away from everything. You have a choice of walks of a number of lengths, to suit fitness and time available.

Great for a short walk

Traveler's should stop here and stretch their legs. A lovely walk through native bush, over three bridges across the Patea River. In season the Rhododendrons are superb.

Nice park along the River

A really nice park, quiet and green, with really beautiful Rhododendron Garden. There is a pedestrian suspension bridge to cross Patea River. 4 different routes / track are available to enjoy the whole park area. At the entry point standing proudly the Malone Gate, built in 1923 as a tribute to Colonel William George Malone, free entry with free on street parking nearby.

A walk back in time

2016年4月

Recently we visited Stratford for my husband's family reunion. We walked through King Edward Park which was lovely with several bridges and one swinging bridge which fascinated our grandson. It is a lovely and peaceful place to visit if you are out for a walk.
