We started this hike off the Moore Rd parking lot at around 10am - plenty of parking available. Parking lot has clean porta potties. The hike up to Lion’s Head is reasonable but good shoes highly recommended for the rocky path for most of the way. It took about 1.5 hrs to get to Lion’s Head including some time spent at earlier lookouts. The main trail is very well marked. Make sure to go all the way to Lion’s Head - it’s well worth it.

The hike is challenging due to the many, many exposed rocks and also roots, especially the first part of the trail. Definitely need closed toe sturdy-soled shoes as the rocks are slippery even on a clear day. Pretty much the whole trail is shaded.
The views are definitely worth it! Absolutely stunning.
Don’t be fooled when you get to the first 1 or 2 lookouts. This is not the main one. You have to go another 15-20 minutes. When you are on the main lookout you are actually standing on top of the “lion’s head”. When you return, take one of the next lookouts and look back where you were and you can see the head.
Distance is about 7 km but due to rocks on the trail it took us about 3 hours, including about a half hour of stops at lookouts and a picnic on the main lookout. We did not do any side trails. Be sure to bring water and snacks. Also, you definitely have to book your parking ahead of time online and they strictly monitor it with an attendant. We went third week of August and there were no bugs. When you get to where the lookouts begin there are some steep climbs.

The only parking lot that gives access charges 5/he for parking and there is a person giving tickets there all the time. Beware you don't buy too little time. It takes 55 min to get to the lion's head lookout if you go at a brisk pace. Nice trail near the end. It's a shame that the locals don't have the vision to manage the popularity of the place in a better way.

More than a moderate hike, almost 10 km both ways, you will need 3 hours here for sure, mostly in the shade, definitely need to bring your water bottle.
No parking when we got there at 11am on a weekday (I have to say people did a lousy job parking leaving too much space in between cars, could almost fit in there, but not really, crazy), so had to go back to the village to park, $3 per hour, maximum 3 hours, which is a bit too tight.

The whole Bruce Peninsula and local residents are turning away tourist as they are being referred to in a very negative way. Parks have put a time limit on how long you are able to visit. Locals want to keep this treasure to themselves and not generate income for the economy.

The beauty of this area is killing it. Extreme overuse by often thoughtless people are having a huge negative impact. Moore Street is now completely no parking. There is one small, and I do mean small, parking lot. People unfamiliar with the area show up in flip flops or high heels much to the amusement of the locals. At least one lady in high heels broke her ankle this year on the trail. The side trail has been closed due to misuse. There is no camping or fires here but that does not matter to some. One illegal fire this year required the local fire department to act. A local media outlet has stated that it will take the trail about 6 years to recover. Please stay away.

We went there and hiked to see the view, which was beautiful! The hike is not easy, because of the rocks and the roots, and it was slippery because of the rain earlier in the day, but it was worth it. There were no big climbs but you have to have good legs to be able to go there.

Loved it but lots of tree roots/rocks /slippery so proper hiking boots/shoes should be worn for safety. Also no safety railings so if you have young children pls hang on to them tightly. Look out round trip is 2 hours but we did the 20 km loop from Mccurdy parking lot loop using the Ilse Hanel side trail which was basically flat-old logging road. Nice break after all the rocks and tree roots. Moderate hike...not easy. Beautiful high views of the different colors of the water etc. Air is so clean. It's such a shame that people have ruined it with littering! They had to close the Moore Street access point due to this.
