This is the place where the head was cremated by one of the desciples of Guru Teg Bahadurji who was beheaded at Delhi by Aurangjeb for opposing the conversion of Hindus. His body was cremated at Delhi. His head was brought by one of his desciples to Aanadpur. This is one of the rare examples where a Guru of one religion sacrificed his life for saving other religion.

At Anandpur Sahib I knew about the history of 'Sikh Gurus', Sikhs and there devotion for our country. A beautiful gurudwara in the hills of Himalaya. here you can also visit Bhakhra Dam and Naina devi temple nearer to it.

This gurudware is place where the cremation of head of 9th Guru Teg Bahadur was done. Then Bhai Jaita ji bring the head of 9th guru Tegbahadur sahib from Delhi to Anandpur Sahib. Then the cremation of head was done here

We, a group of seven friends, visited the Gurudwara during May 2017. The place is about 500-700 m from the Anandpur Sahib Station. The Gurudwara is actually built at the place where the head of the 9th Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur Singh, was cremated (He was beheaded in Delhi by Aurangzeb when he refused to convert to Islam).
The place is a beauty. The overall humble, yet pure surroundings create a mesmerizing effect on the visitors. The lighting in the night, highlight the monument all the more.
We stayed at Mata Jeetoji Niwas,Takhat Keshgarh Sahib which had four bedded air-conditioned rooms and the cost of accommodation was almost nil.
The food provided in the langar, as is usual al all Gurudwaras, was very delicious and healthy.
If you want to stay in the Gurudwara's Sarai at Anandpur, the contact person would be Bhai Ranbir Singh (Mobile No. +91 9855420205) who is a very soft spoken and a very fine person.
