There were two of us in the national park in September. Have put our car in the parking lot in Hagen and have made a small hike to the Königsstuhl. Tip for geocachers: the LAB shortens the route in a pleasant and interesting way) For admission you get more than expected. I cannot understand that some describe 12€ as completely overpriced. Of course, that would be too expensive just for the Skywalk. But also included are a visit to the museum, a short film in the cinema and even a 20 minute guided tour (every 30 min). The exhibition is unique and modern. With audio guide you are guided through the exhibition over 3 floors. Starting from the formation of the Chalk Rock millions of years ago to the present day. We were far from able to record all the information and are happy to come back to add to our knowledge. Also very suitable for school children.
You can of course disagree about the Skywalk. I used to think the view was nicer without Skywalk. I was here almost every summer as a kid. But the chance of retaining the Königsstuhl for years to come would probably be very low without the modern structure.
The view of Victoria is definitely recommended. If you just want to have a view of the Königsstuhl without visiting the exhibition, you should actually save yourself the 12€ admission. We liked it very much and we will definitely come back with grandchild.

A beautiful excursion at sea with the MS Alexander to the chalk cliffs on Rügen. In beautiful sunshine, blue skies and plenty of wind, my wife and I enjoyed the about 90 minutes on the Baltic Sea. The team on board is very, very friendly, helpful and even more. I rely on the wheelchair and was able to get on the ship with it. Everything went great - until the exit. Because I had been standing right at the door, I had to get off the board first. Due to a stupid mistake on my part, I tipped backwards while driving on the small bridge. Here I have to mention that I drive a power wheelchair and not a manual one. Manual wheelchairs are brought ashore by the team. Anyway, the crew and a guest reacted in an exemplary manner and slowed down my backward fall significantly, so I didn’t even get a scrape. I don't know if the crew will ever read this, but I would like to thank you again for the prompt Help center.

A hike along the Hochuferwanderweg is a must if you are a guest on the island of Rügen. The spectacular views of the chalk cliffs should definitely be enjoyed in the morning, as they are then lit by the sun. A break in the "UNESCO World Heritage Forum - hiking base and information point" completes the visit. The trail runs through the shade of the beech forest.

I loved the rocks. There are lots of rocks here. There are different places where you can especially see this natural landscape. It makes more sense to choose public transportation instead of private vehicles. There is peace and quiet.

Visiting the chalk cliffs is worthwhile - preferably in the morning sunshine.
We booked a boat trip along the coast on the first day from Binz. This was a nice ride and we got a comprehensive first impression of the chalk cliffs.
On the second day we drove to the national park but to the paid parking lot Hagen and then walked through a beautiful beech forest with good paths. We did not pay for the overpriced admission in principle, but used another nice, short walk opposite with wonderful views of the chalk cliffs. Back we took the shuttle bus ( 2.20€ / person ) back to our parking lot.

Excursion conducted with MS Alexander! Despite bad weather an experience! The crew just great and very dedicated to the guests, especially the children. 100 percent Recommendation!

Those who arrive early are almost alone there and can enjoy the view. The exhibition in the building is dumbfounded and just great, you definitely have to bring 2-3 hours to follow the impressions and actions.

The cliffs north of Sassnitz are incredibly beautiful from the water.
We came by at 7:30.

Unique experience, I initially planned to walk along the rocks. When the weather is nice it is better to take the boat, you will see a lot more. The boat is usually busy, so you have to look carefully to find the right place on the boat to take photos.

ich kann mich nur noch ganz den Ausführungen von "HSmetan" anschliessen.
Die wege sind gut ausgebaut und es ist zu jeder Jahreszeit ein besoneres Erlebnis.
Die richtige Kleidung und ggf. Verpflegung mit ausreichend Flüssigkeit ist sowieso immer Pflicht, egal wo und wann man unterwegs ist.
Viel Spass beim Wandern.

Den spektakulärsten Eindruck gewinnt man, wenn man in Lohme parkt und dann am "Café Niedlich" zum Strand hinuntersteigt und von dort aus am Schwanenstein vorbei zum Königstuhl geht. Bei gutem Wetter ist das zu jeder Jahreszeit ein eindrucksvolles Erlebnis. Man geht ungefähr 3 km am Strand entlang und kann dann beim Königstein über eine Holztreppe wieder zum Hochufer hinaufsteigen und von dort gemütlich durch den Wald wieder zurück nach Lohme gehen. Für mich die bevorzugte Variante, man entgeht dann auch etwas dem Tourismustrubel am Königstuhl. Die andere Variant ist von Sassnitz Wedding aus am Tierpark vorbei zum Königstuhl. Diesen Weg ist schon Caspar David Friedrich gegangen, an den Wissower Klinken vorbei. Diesen Weg würde ich allerdings nicht komplett am Strand unten laufen, da dies u.U. zu anstrengend sein könnte. Es gibt da zwei Aufstiege zum Hochufer zwischen Wedding und Königstuhl.

Hello...we would like to park in Hagen and take the bus to the Königsstuhl Visitor Center. From there we would like to view from the platform. I have a couple of questions regarding the beach:
1. Are the stairs one comes down the only way back to the Visitor Center?
2.What is the easiest boat option from which to view the cliffs from the water?

Hi Bruce,
the stairs (approx. 450 wooden steps) are the only way up and down to the beach. The wide enough if you need to take a rest somewhere along the descent / climb.
I didn't go by boat to see the cliffs but I could see them on the water. Boats are leaving from nearby Sassnitz.
