beautiful guided tour, suggestive and spectacular landscape, if you are in Puglia to visit absolutely.

The largest cavern in Italy, it was discovered in 1938. Our tour through the cavern was 400 feet underground! Lighting provided safe footing and some lovely colors. Pictures only allowed in certain areas.

Beautiful cave, one of the finest we have ever seen, and the white cave is a great ending to the tour. Many thanks to Claudio for an engaging, knowledgeable, funny and cynical guidance through this place!

The Caves are very beautiful, some spectacular, a wonder of nature... unfortunately we had little time to appreciate the beauties in detail, also because our guide was hasty and not exhaustive in descriptions, he took more care to put anxiety to visitors for the length of the route. It would be better to organize smaller groups, so that everyone can listen to the little information given. I would add that I find it unfair to forbid visitors to take photos along the way just because the City holds the image right, so for pure economic interest! Moreover, by booking the ticket online in addition to the cost of the ticket, you require a pre-sale fee of € 3 and an additional fee of € 1.50... absurd to pay an increased amount of € 4.50 per ticket!

On Monday, December 23, we were with the family at the Castellana caves. The cave is wonderful and the route was pleasant, full of information thanks to guides Rosy and Mari. They were very kind immediately and gave very welcome information for the children.
An experience to be redone.

Maria was a great English-speaking guide. What an unbelievably large and spectacular cave system. It was well lit where they needed it to be, and sometimes slippery - hold onto hand rails and watch your head. We took the long tour including the white cave which lasted about hour and a half. Caves are not cold like you would think. We are an active couple of 70 yrs old and didn’t have a problem with the walk. There are steps up and down in various places and some inclines and declines in the pathway. We had a small group of about 30 which seemed like the perfect amount. More would’ve been too crowded for a decent tour. We came by bus from Monopoli, about half hour. Nice day trip. Ate afterwards at “CA” restaurant across the street for some delicious food. Highly recommend this little adventure.

Beautiful cave, too bad, however, that the guide was more committed to remembering that the steps could be wet, and therefore slippery, than to tell more about the cave; it would not be bad if the guides were equipped with a microphone to ensure that the little information given was heard by the whole group.

Saturday at 10:00 with the family. The Castellana Caves are worth seeing: one of the natural wonders of our beloved Italy! We just hope that, in the future, they will lower prices because, booking online, they are 20 € plus 3 € pre-sale for adults and 17 € plus 3 € pre-sale for children ... are almost 90 € for a family of 4 ... higher than the price of admission to the Vatican Museums ... Mah!
The caves are very beautiful and very damp, logically, so you have to equip yourself with a jacket and comfortable shoes with non-slip rubber soles. The guides explain very well and out loud, so everyone can hear. The route, between round trip (with visit to the White Grotto), and about two hours. Public toilets are charged... even by credit card! Nice souvenir shops and delis along the avenue before the entrance.

As the title of the review just arrived in the initial cave the first reaction is just woooooooow and we are only at the beginning
The whole route is beautiful up to the wonderful Bianca cave as well as all the peculiarities of something unimaginable.
Suggestive particular
Congratulations to the guide for the clarifications and technical explanations and the various curiosities that accompanied us throughout the journey
The complete route takes about 3 hours round trip and is suitable and recommended for everyone.

Salve, volevo acquistare i biglietti per le grotte per il 31 agosto, ma sul sito sono disponibili solo fino al 30... Come posso fare? Ho telefonato ma mi risponde un fax. Grazie.

Dal 31 agosto cambiano gli orari delle visite, quindi probabilmente sarà possibile prenotare in quella data solo tra qualche giorno. Comunque le assicuro che la fila per comprare i biglietti scorre velocissima e non ci sono lunghe attese neanche per entrare, quindi anche comprare i biglietti il giorno stesso può essere un’opzione valida
