Nice little museum, with of course Collections of Latin American Sacred Art and Pre-Columbian Art, but also Egyptian Collections (small collection), Gallo-Roman and Middle Ages. Easy circulation despite the world, Audio Guide has 2€, entrance has 6€.

We took a day trip on the local Toulouse train to visit the Auch Cathedral and this museum, 2nd in France to Quai Branly’s Pre-Columbian collection. Having just visited that Paris museum, we concentrated on the town museum collection; artifacts from Roman Auch, period clothing, 1780 harpsichord, 19th C displays of games, linen & farming, 1874 painting of Auch with its new Monumental Staircase and the "creatures of nature" by the local artist, Sylvain Trabut that adorned many of the excellent artifact exhibits throughout this nice museum with excellent dated descriptions in French(English audio guide available.

Un musée qui vaut surtout pour sa collection d'art précolombien assez unique en France. Beaucoup de pièces intéressantes . Le reste peut être parcouru plus vite. Dommage qu'il n'y ait pas de climatisation car les ventilateurs sont assez insuffisants en période de canicule. Accessible aux fauteuils roulants mais parking éloigné.

Installé dans un ancien couvent et récemment rénové, le musée est très agréable à arpenter. Ce sont bien sûr les riches collections d’art précolombien qui en font d’abord l’intérêt (des liens se sont développés avec le musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac) avec quelques superbes pièces, mais l’art médiéval est également intéressant, tout comme une partie plus ethnographique consacrée à la vie en Gascogne, et les œuvres d’artistes locaux sont à découvrir. Accueil sympathique, parcours aisé à suivre, tarif peu élevé. A ne pas manquer à Auch.

There’s a lot of stuff tastefully displayed in what seems like a small, multi-story building, but the displays are so good and so well thought-out that the museum doesn’t seem cluttered. There are great information boards throughout describing the history of the Gers, some of the people, the origin of the extensive pre-Colombian pieces and so on. This is hidden away in the back streets of the old town but it’s well worth searching for it and spending an hour or so here.

Musée un peu difficile a trouver mais quel plaisir; bon accueil, le circuit est très bien pour une visite facile. De très belles pièces et les explications sont très précises.
Il faut prendre son temps et se laisser aller dans cette ambiance.

Petit musée sur 3 niveaux, avec une collection archéologique antiquité et moyen âge, une grande collection d'objets précolombiens, et au dernier niveau des œuvres d'artistes locaux, ainsi que quelques objets anciens du quotidien dans le Gers. Tout est très bien expliqué.
