Absolutely loved it. Would recommend 100% and would definitely return in we are back in the area. To be so close to the Kites was a great experience and to see the White Kite was an added bonus

Wow! Wow! Wow! A big thank you to Tim, Kathleen and their extended family of beautiful birds and animals for such a warm and friendly welcome and making the last day of our holiday absolutely amazing! Valley View Falconry is a unique and hidden pocket of Welsh beauty tucked away, ready for you to share and experience their amazing Birds of Prey for yourself – you are welcomed into this very special family, whose true dedication has seen them immersed into this amazing way of life, where they are fully committed to rescuing and keeping Birds of Prey safe, happy and healthy.
On arrival, I was immediately holding a baby bunny just days old, whilst watching an excited kid goat skipping freely, seeing elegant peacocks parade, listening to a chatty goose and flock of chickens and roosters, watching tiny cheeky kittens play hide and seek, as beautiful horses were being lovingly tended to.
In the 2-hour Bird of Prey 'Meet and Greet' for two people, we each held 6 very different and fascinating owls and hawks. Tim has a special way of bringing out the unique and quirky personalities of each bird you meet and he enjoys answering any questions you have – so feel free to ask away, as you will learn so much from him. Tim will tailor the birds he selects for your Meet and Greet according to those you would most love to see and hold, starting with the smallest and lightest, gradually building your confidence as they increase in size and weight.
During each hold, Tim made sure both of us and the birds were happy and content, we were not rushed at all, so all we had to do was relax and enjoy the experience. The excitement of which bird was coming next was such a surprise - I tried not to peek, but just had to sneak a quick look, especially when each bird announced their arrival with a welcoming shriek to say ‘hello.’ There is nothing more captivating than gaining the respect and trust from a Bird of Prey, whilst seeing every little detail of their beauty so close up – Tim has a wonderful way of making you feel at ease to be able to do this confidently. We loved holding all of the owls and hawks, but our soft spots and therefore most memorable memories were listening to the cute baby cries from Ava the truly elegant and grown up Great Horned Owl, cradling Odin the Siberian Eagle Owl like a baby in our arms, the truly remarkable Shey, the stunning Harris Hawk, whilst he allowed us to gently stroke and then squidge his legs. Finally, I had the privilege of staring into the dramatic and intense eyes of Phoenix the majestic Red-Tailed Hawk, before he shaded me from the sun with a hug from his magnificent wing span, as we looked over Valley View - all amazing moments I will treasure for ever and a perfect end to our holiday.
For the time you are at Valley View Falconry, you will be entertained by Tim who will make you laugh constantly, the beautiful Birds of Prey will mesmerise you, the tranquillity of the breath-taking scenery and setting will simply enchant so you do not want to leave! From staying in beautifully restored and colourful Shepherd Huts accommodation, to browsing through a treasure trove of exciting and intriguing collectables evoked from days-gone-by in the fascinating Antiques Barn, relaxing in a welcoming and homely Café, then exploring a well-stocked Gift Shop, including embroidered clothing and unique memento gifts with personal photos from your visit, designed by Tim. There’s even a charming Beauty Salon for relaxing, pampering treatments on-site, run by Tim and Kathleen’s daughter, making this a truly family affair and a wonderful experience that the whole family can enjoy!
So, if you are looking to make some very special memories, Valley View Falconry is a ‘must place to visit’ – a hidden Welsh gem waiting to be explored and a once in a life-time experience you will never forget.

We had a great time at the valley with our family. Tim is very welcoming, friendly and enthusiastic. He has great knowledge of his birds. It was a great experience and we all learnt so much. Along with getting to hold some beautiful birds. 10/10 a great experience. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed in the Shepherds Hut for Bank Holiday weekend. It is situated on a farm in a rustic setting with great views. The hut was bijou with two double bunk style, very comfortable beds. We were gifted welsh cakes and sweet treats by the hosts which was really thoughtful. The shower which is a short distance from the hut, adjacent to the toilet had plenty of hot water, and was easy to use. There is a well stocked kitchen on site that can be used for meal prep and cooking.
The falconry is wonderful and stocked with both free range animals and caged birds, most of which are rescued or donated.
The hosts are lovely and cant do enough to make your visit joyful.
The area has plenty to see and do for people of all ages and the Falconry is an excellent rural retreat.

Took my dad for his 80th birthday with my sisters and my mum. I was expecting to be a bit disengaged as not usually my thing but we all had a brilliant time. Tim is very knowledgeable, clearly loves the birds he looks after and was really witty to boot! You can’t but help be swept up by his enthusiasm and love for these gorgeous birds. His manner is really calm so felt really safe whilst holding the birds and because it was a small family group we all got to experience the birds close up. Would really recommend visiting, we had a brilliant time and my dad was delighted. He has been to a few centres before but said this one was the best. Thank you so much Tim

Had a fantastic afternoon at valley view celebrating my dads 80th birthday. Tim is very welcoming with a great sense of humour and a brilliant knowledge of his birds of prey. His enthusiasm and passion for the birds is obvious and we all learned so much. My dad has done similar before but said this was by far the best experience. The setting is stunning especially in the autumn sunshine. Highly recommended.

Brilliant time. Tim fitted us in at short notice (we basically turned up on his doorstep on a whim). He was extremely knowledgeable. I have a number of chickens (quite a few rehomed ones) but could never find a breeder or vet who could answer my many medical questions about chickens until I met Tim. Tim took time explaining the many features of his owls, hawks, etc. We got to handle some of them too. You can tell how fond he is of his many birds and other rehomed animals. Truly one of the best trips for any animal lover.

Wonderful morning with Tim and his brilliant birds of prey. Tim is so knowledgable and friendly....we all learnt so much. One of our group has limited mobility, so Tim kindly tailored our 'meet and greet' experince accordingly. The setting for this experience is an interesting farm with a variety of different animals and birds.....all set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Well worth doing this experience.....would definately recommend to anyone

What a wonderful morning we had at Valley View Falconry with Tim bringing out a variety of birds for us all to handle. Tim's warm welcome and knowledge and enthusiasm for all the birds made our visit truly memorable. He was disappointed that the current Welsh laws on avian flu meant he was unable to fly the birds, but it really didn't affect our enjoyment of the whole experience, and I felt we spent more time with the birds 'up close and personal'. We also enjoyed tea/coffee and biscuits.

Beautiful place in rural Wales, stayed here in one of the Shepherd’s huts. Really stunning scenery, beautiful birds, and Tim is an excellent kind host and also super knowledgeable about everything.
