This spot was incredible, not only is the scenery stunning but there is so much to do if you go looking. It is fun scrambling over the rocks, but also there are areas that you can use waterfalls as slides and quite high cliffs with deep enough water to jump off. The water is cold, but refreshing in that heat, I'd highly recommend this to anyone nearby.

I had a hankering for a swim at the base of a waterfall in the rainforest & found this about 1.5 hrs from Brisbane. I got there early (before 9) as I heard it got busy & carparking was limited (I like alone time with nature with minimal fellow humans). I found Cougal Cascades to be a paradise with lush forest and several beautiful waterfalls and swimming holes to enjoy. I swam under two of the waterfalls (both had pools at the base with stunning blue/green colours) and rock hopped down Currumbin Creek. There is a short easy walk that takes you to an old disused sawmill that was used in 1945-51 (this is at the end of the walk after you pass the falls. My timing was good as it was quiet when I arrived but getting busy as I left.

A very comfortable walk along the creek with views of the cascading waterfalls. The old sawmill takes you back in time. Very accessible, just a bit steep on the way up.

Good parking to this easy walk along the creek, offering an excellent lookout up to the Cougal Cascades (Currumbin Rock Slides)

Came across this awesome piece of nature. Has some great swimming spots as well as a great place to explore with the family. The walkway is paved and very easy to walk along. There is also a bit of history with the old sawmill as well. Parking is very limited and at times can get out of hand with people parking everywhere. All in all worth the trip for a swim.

Only a couple hundred meters to get to the swimming hole, and another 400m if you want to visit the disused sawmill. Lots of different holes to swim in. We chose a shallow one with a sandier section, perfect for our 4 year old.
Did come close to a snake. It is a rainforest, don’t approach the snakes people, saw some tourists hassling one.

Great for older kids who are confident to jump off the rocks and are strong swimmers. Fresh water to cool off in and nice for a day trip with a picnic basket. Not so good for toddlers, the elderly who have trouble on uneven surfaces or those that don't like not seeing the bottom!

Visited the Cascades after heavy rain and they were flowing quite fast. It’s just lovely - gorgeous tall trees all the way - great for photos. There’s a small car park at the bottom then a paved walk to the top which while not exactly steep or very long - it is uphill so might be a challenge for someone with mobility issues.

The drive up to the cascades passes Currumbin Rock Pools , which in itself is a lovely spot for a picnic and swim on the hotter days , but the cascades are just small slice of heaven.Car parking spaces are a bit limited so be tolerant ,the walk is very easy and runs beside the creek so you can view the cascades from the track ,but the true joy comes from scrambling down off the track to the rock shelves and the cascades themselves , if you can get there without a lot of people , the peace and serenity is unbelievable.So worth the walk and the effort.John and Gina.

The Mt Cougal section of Springbrook National Park is about 6-7km further down the road from Currumbin Rock Pools. It is fairly quiet, with only some 12-14 spaces in car park. There are however toilets. The walking path is several hundred metres long, and generally well made with asphalt. There is a number of bumps (from tree roots) and hollows, but it is readily suitable for a child’s stroller/pram. There is plenty of shade on the path, although a reasonable length of the trip out from the car park is uphill. A nice walk, and a scenic drive to get there.
