Weekends are good to be spent on the beach.
Swimming and fresh sea air along the Illana Bay Coast are refrehing and good for the health.
A one to two hours is good enough.

Entrance from Cotabato- GenSan National Highway at SPDA.
Around 20 to 30 minutes drive to several beach resorts in Kusiong.
You can buy fruits along the way or different fishes for a good grill or ihaw.
Weekdays are good to go, weekends are peak times.

I grew up swimming in this beach during holidays and special occasions so this will always be memorable for me. Nothing fancy just good lowkey beach where you can bring your family and friends. Entrance fee is affordable. The place is relatively accessible if you have your own vehicle. Recently, some private individuals and groups started taking interest in the place so right now, some fancy (and a bit expensive) resorts are operational. I would always go back to this beach. 💙

The beach is clean crystal water.
Very accessible since the road to Kusiong has been completely cemented.
There are also available Bancas on rent.
You can grill fish for lunch.
Seafoods and fresh fishes are on sell along the way to Kusiong.
Fresh fruits like bananas, mango are available on some stalls beside the roadway.

If you are the adventurous type and like to discover hidden, untouched nature gems, this is the place to go, Cushiong beach used to be unacessible to the public because it is hidden behind a thick forest of coconut and different kinds of palm trees. Since a new road had been constructed by the local government, the beach is now easily accessed. Cushiong municipality is lined by beaches still untouched by tourism except for locals who spend weekends and holidays for family picnics.

The beach is interestingly dotted with colorful pebbles and small rocks. The water is unbelievably crystal clear so snorkeling is fun.

The local fisherfolks offer 10 centavo- boat rides on their local bancas (fishing boats) for a tour of the coastline and for a dip into the open water.

There are no restaurants in the vicinity. For food one can buy fresh fish from the locals an have them grilled right there and then. Other local delicacies like pastil (rice and fish wrapped in banana leaves cooked in boiling water) is a must try as well. There is also a variety of fruits and local drinks made from palm trees called pandan.

In all, food and acommodation are very basic and simple treats yet perfect because of the cystal clear, unpolluted beach and the very warm hospitality of the locals.
