It is a nice and iconic landmark of Pondicherry easily noticeable from the promenade along the Bay of Bengal. Looks especially beautiful around sunset.

went to see light house and after i had been there i were sble to see only renobmstion but closed due to under renovation hope this opens soon thank you

Impressive building situated on the Seafront Promenade, illuminated at night. Sadly seeming to fall into disrepair. Unfortunately not allowed in when we visited in December, would have liked to have climbed up inside for a panaramic view.

Old Light House now obsolete, but adds a rustic beauty to otherwise monotonous looking horizontal street line opposite to the beach. Golden rays of the morning sun adds further grace to this tall structure.

Located at the promenade road, this attraction can be easily visited while walking on foot. I had heard that they allow you to go inside and climb up the stairs but the guard told me its not allowed at the moment . So I was happy with clicking the pics from outside.

I climbed 10 floors to reach the top which was very tiring especially due to the temperature but the view from the top was something to die for. You can almost see the entire Pondicherry from here. The beach looks amazing from the top. It was very crowded when I went hence could not completely enjoy or stay for longer time.

You cannot access this lighthouse and whatever little you see is from the main street outside the brightly painted walls.

I didn't climb up inside so don't know about that but the road in front is always open. It's a nice walk up and down that road by the sea.
