I bumped into Santosh Gupta's service through tripadvisor when I was looking to plan my trip to Sikkim. The reviews about Santosh were so impressive that I decided to choose him over travel agencies that I originally planned to go with.
I contacted Santosh through Whatsapp and he called me as soon as he was free and responded with neat itineraries, giving me options. I could spare only a 5N 6D tour and he accordingly planned it. I also asked him for hotel suggestions and he suggested a few names. I booked them myself. That was it. He contacted me a few days before the trip to confirm my arrival and ID proof for permit to Changu Lake and Nathula Pass.
Once we reached there, a smiling Santosh welcomed us and took us on a expert ride to Pelling (parts of the roads were bad but Santosh is an amazing driver and managed it with dexterity and skill), tiring as it would have been for him. He was up early next day to take us around Pelling and then the day after we went through South Sikkim, visiting a few places on the way and reached Gangtok. There again he gave us options on where we liked to visit. Right through the ride, he was highly informative, about Sikkim's topography, culture, economy that we were highly impressed.
Our Changu Lake and Natu la pass visit was the highlight. I was a bit diffident as I read about oxygen difficulty in high altitude but Santosh encouraged us and gave us the right instructions on how to approach it and not to go by the random youtube videos that blowed up the difficulty part. He was also kind enough to lend a better jacket for the cold weather at 14000 feet. And he was right about the place. We had a wonderful time, well equipped with boots and gloves that Santosh helped us hire. On return he had already arranged for an excellent lunch on the way. Santosh is friendly, kind, polite and highly knowledgeable. He can speak English and Hindi besides the local languages. We could not do the North Sikkim part but are keen to go back, with Santosh as our guide.
You can skip any travel plan by agencies and safely choose Santosh as your guide and driver. His Innova Crysta is in top condition and he makes sure the vehicle is ready for any high altitude trip, checking everything! We wish him all the best and will seek his service again for sure. We were in Sikkim in December and based on the good reviews left by fellow travellers on TripAdvisor, hired Santosh for cab service around Sikkim.
We had an enjoyable trip, Santosh was polite, patient, helpful, maintained a very clean car, and also knowledgeable about the entire region.
He helped us explore all of North Sikkim, he knows all the good spots, and we had a comfortable journey.

We visited Sikkim last month - Nov 14th and it was a 9 day trip. We were little skeptical how its going to be as we planned for a lengthy trip and it was our first time visit to North East.
I found him in Trip advisor, many suggesting his services instead of going with travels and I felt we made right decision after meeting him and talking to him. He has been with us through entire journey, suggested good hotels, suggested best itenary which covered entire Sikkim - North, East, West and South. Especially his driving skills are exceptional, with such narrow roads and high altitude journey's, he made us trust and feel at ease during the journey.
My son liked him and preferred sitting on the front seat and have those lengthy conersations. He has good knowledge on the local culture, food, India-border connectivity, others possible trips from Sikkim to Manas Sarovar, treks etc which he shared all along and it was fun. Felt like travelling with a known person. Very good at heart and didn't mind sharing his food, his story and experiences
Cab was very clean and neat which I didn't expect. Finally I would say he is the right guy to travel if you are planning Sikkim trip. He can be contacted through watsapp too - 9800404204

We had a fantastic experience with Santosh. He was highly knowledgeable with key tourist spots, his driving displayed real expertise. Complete control in varied situations like city, mountain, traffic jam driving. His networking skills and smart actions were a sight to see. I see a future business leader in Santosh. We hired a cab driver called Sonam (Avinash Thakur) through Mr. Santosh whom we found on TripAdvisor. His number is +91 77971 76080
Sonam is an excellent person. He is prompt, punctual, drives very safely, has a neat and tidy car and knows the city very well. His recommendations were all honest and he was never money minded. He was really polite and helpful. He took us around the city and knows all the right places to eat and his suggestions are very helpful. He never rushed us and told us to take the time to explore and said not to worry he will wait. He is an avid photographer so he took wonderful family pics for us. My son fell ill and vomited at one place and he went out of his way to help. Our flight got cancelled in Gangotk and we had to urgently go to Baagdogra and he went out of his way to arrange a taxi for us, negotiated a price and even called us twice after we reached baagdogra and also when we got back home to Delhi.
He was polite and always smiling. He knows all the people because everywhere we went he has friends who greeted him warmly. The cab driver we took after Sonam was not as nice as him. He drove rashly, impolite and very money minded so we value Sonam more now.
If I could give him more stars I will. I wish him the best. Please call him. We highly recommend him.

I booked Santosh’s cab based on TripAdvisor’s review and it appeared to be my best decision during my family visit to Sikkim in May 2022. He is not just a cab driver, but an amazing host, guide and your care taker during your entire trip. He carries immense knowledge about local routes, folklores, foods and treats you so well that wows you and makes your trip all the memorable. His cab is very clean and he drives smoothly and guides you so well. Not only does he take you to places of sightseeing , he would arrange all needed permits for different locations as mandatory in Sikkim including of Nathu La Pass. Our pick up at Bagdogra Airport by him was on time, he suggested good restaurants on the way and other stopover of interests while narrating many anecdotes and stories of interest related to Sikkim. My kids were completely thrilled and we were spellbound by his amazing hospitality. While my younger son got sick for a day at Lachung he took us immediately to Military Hospital and spoke to officials and got proper medication. While my son and I couldn’t visit Nathula since my son was not well, my wife and daughter made the trip and Santosh made sure that there is no discomfort. He is well natured, down to earth at the same time street smart who knows true essence of hospitality. I would recommend anyone to take his services without hesitation. I noticed during our trip he received constant calls from different guests requesting for booking and it appeared majority of them were reaching out to him based on google and Trip Advisor review. As his cab was already booked with us, he does have team of like minded cab drivers that he could recommend and make your trip memorable. Even after your trip ends and he would be in touch with you to check you reach your original destination property. Thank you Santosh and wishing you all the best. Never book any trip from thrillopia. They will ask you to pay whole payment before and once the trip starts they will not make it upto mark.hotel name which they shared was nt the one which they provided us. I have visited sikkim through thrillopia with my family and it was worst experience. The tour agent rajat Singh doesn't know how to talk to customer even there were no proper booking of hotels and drivers. We suffered a lot as there were no proper communication from our trip organiser rajat Singh. So never booked any tour from hemavat travel company and through thrillopia as well.

We went for 9 day Sikkim Tour from 7 to 15 May. No conducted tours cover the places we wanted to see. For every place we added or altered they quoted extra charges. How much extra after we take the cab. So we decided to hire cab services. That's when in TripAdvisor we came across Santosh contact number and contacted him. He shared full itinerary, and made all arrangements to avoid last minute running around. He Told us about weather conditions at different places, food, accomodation, explained history, rivers, medicinal plants, berries, wild animals, flowers, local cuisine. He took us around inspite of being unwell himself.
He showed us around Gangtok, Nathula pass, tsomgo lake, lachen,. , Guru Dongmar, kala patthar, zero point, yumthang valley, hot spring, several waterfalls.
Santhosh you made our tour special. Very nice person and a good human being we have com across. God bless.

Happy to have met you Santosh.. a reliable cab service I would ever say. U have gained my trust in our first talk. Glad that I got to know you. Without u this trip would never been so memorable. Will catch up with you very soon for our Nepal & Bhutan trip very soon. I would strongly recommend Santosh, if you are planning for a trip to Sikkim. Very knowledgeable and friendly.
