We went to Upban lake on a Friday evening and it was moderately crowded. The lake itself, although not very clean is decent. It has options for boating and decent number of food options with seating. The area surrounding the lake is well maintained but the footpath around it can be greatly improved. It's okay for a one time outing or walk with family.

This place is calm in early morning, however it gets crowded on Sundays and Saturday evening. Fee places to eat nearby, bars and restaurants nearby and boating

Shri Ganapati on bank of lake and Mahadev in water adds to the beauty of this artificial lake which is a pride place for Thanekars. Idle place for morning/evening walk and guaranteed full of pure oxygen for lung health.It is not a place to understand from reviews but a place to be seen by open eyes.Its beauty multiplies after rains.Wonder of nature God.

Upvan lake is another one in thane which has beautiful surrounding and is normally clean, one side is yeour hill and other is nice buildings. Good place to walk in the morning or evenings.

I had an amazing time at this lake and I will definitely recommend it to all people especially kids and I will also advise people to wear comfortable footwear

An excellent place to spend an evening in Thane with peace, boating, musical fountain, Street food and the background of the Yeoor hills. Lot of youngsters make up the crowd but it is a good place for the family. And thankfully there is no horse riding.

Is it possible to have a picnic at Upvan lake where we carry our own food n bedsheets for spreading on floor ?

Hi Kristi, yes it's possible...along the walking track there's lot of space where you can spread the mats and relax....I would prefer you cross the food stalls and select a place.
Can hobby anglers fish this lake... we catch and release the fish...?

The lake is open to public 24x7. However, it is advisable not to venture late night due to safety reasons. Early mornings, day times, evening are all fine.
