I am a hike leader with the Outdoors Club of South Jersey.There are many miles of hiking trails at Mercer County Park..The red trail is blazed but at times it is difficult to follow.The blue trail is done up to the rowing center but there is no is no blazing or signs where it continues.Also the blue trail is not blazed for maybe half of the trail.The yellow trail is blazed but after continuing out a few miles it is not blazed.The orange trail is fine.

This is arguably one of the very best public parks in New Jersey. Great for hiking. Nice trails form extensive network. Sports facilities. We used to come here with tennis teams for interscholastic events. Good biking routes. A scenic lake. Picnic areas and playgrounds. A cafe near the lake. Boat rentals. Many areas of NJ do not have such great parks, especially South Jersey.
We enjoyed our day in Mercer County Park and spent it mostly hiking.

lovely place for walking, biking and picnicking. i only live a few minutes away, so I come here pretty often. nice lake and some good trails to explore. also has a few playgrounds scattered across the park, great for kids.

My only complaint is that so many more people know about this park that didn't
before -- and it can feel more crowded on the weekends now. In all seriousness, there are so many trails and parts of the parts to explore. In September, just after Ida, a few trails were closed but it gave me (and on my second visit, my husband) an excuse to explore different parts of te park. There are so many pavillions to reserve for family spaces. Several historic trails, including the John Rogers house which describes historic families and historic architecture of the area. There trails off trails to find little quiet spots. The September 11th memorial is a place for reflection. Crowded enough to go solo, quiet enough for renewal. At other points of the year, there are gardens and different types of shrubery, foliage, and plant life that you can get a unique experience every time. I am unclear whether the boathouse is in full service, but during the summer there is paddleboating and kayaking on Mercer Lake with tons of wildlife. Some times of the year, there is bird nesting. All of it is just grand.

This is a pleasant place to play sports, get exercise, have a picnic or just spend time. The lake is large and lovely except for the power lines marring the view.

This park includes walking and biking trails and 2 different dog parks; based on dog size. Lots of sports activities.

If you embrace the outdoors, there is a lot of variety here. The outdoor spaces support organized sports, walking, biking, and boating activities. The parking lots are spacious. Rangers drive around to patrol the grounds. The immense green space is impeccably maintained. The whole area serves as a nice respite.

I live closeby and make it a point to walk or drive through the park. It's huge, beautifully maintained and offers a variety of activities. There is a tennis court, ice skating rink, boat house, dog park, various softball fields, entertainment stage etc., not to name the hundreds of deers roaming around. A must see destination.

This is a great park. They have everything from ice skating, boat rentals, dog park and great trails to hike or bike. There are Ranger talks about the eagles nesting, and much more. Great facility.

We went here last month on that gorgeous day that it reached over 60 degrees. We went for a wonderful walk down over by where The boat House Marina I believe it is, is located. There was a wonderful trail that we followed that lead us to some bald eagles that we were able to watch. Also it wrapped around and brought us to a picnic area that also had an area for a jungle gym for the kids. It really is a great Park and it looks like you can have parties there too. Definitely looking forward to going back and will maybe even think about having our son's birthday party there this summer.

They do have camping at the park. Go to the Mercer County Parks page and see about reserving a tenting spot.

Hi we are coming to Mercer Lake at the beginning of June to watch our son compete in the IRA rowing championships. We will be travelling in a RV and are wanting to know where we will be able to park the RV during the IRAs. The RV is fully self-contained. Is it possible to stay in the Park? If not, are you able to suggest somewhere nearby that we can stay. We are from New Zealand and do not know the area at all so would be very grateful for any suggestions that you can give us.
