This was a massive waste of time and money. Parking is expensive 30zlt, the ticket in was 10zlt. We had to wait for a group to finish before entering and then we’re headed into the tiny space with approx 40 others. You couldn’t really see anything for all the people and you really couldn’t move as it is such a confined space. Lengthy explanation given in Polish only - no English material available. We got frustrated and left - don’t bother as it quite a lengthy drive to get there for no reward

This has become a tourist trap in a touristic area.
You have to pay for parking, you have to pay for the entry and you have to pay for the toilet (After a long long drive, it will be the first thing you'll do).
And... there is the long lineup. What was off-putting was how the whole thing is organised. You go in in large groups into a tiny room (I counted about 50 going in) so actually you do not see anything because there are too too many people, all this is going on while the 'tour guide' give an explanation in Polish (I got a generic descript on paper in English)
The place consisted of a wooden church covered in skulls and femur bones. It is a unique experience but you cannot take pictures.
There is one room. That's it. And then the guide opens up a trapdoor to show more skulls and femurs stored under said to be 4 meters deep.
It is really a shame what the place has become. It would have been better to allow maybe a few people in at once to allow them to look at the place and give their moment of respect. Explanatory booklets in different languages would have been good to have.

Very interesting place to visit.
A place where seriousness and respect for the dead must be maintained.
One of the few places in europe where you can see thousands of human bones.
You must not take pictures for obvious reasons. a
Aplace for responsible people who can appreciate the seriousness of the place.
Quite far from big tourist centers. Very affordable price.
There is a spa town in the vicinity where you can find many places for rest and relaxation.

Located in the small Polish town of Czermna, the Skull Chapel is a small and unassuming chapel. However you would be shocked by what’s hidden behind the wooden door. The skulls and bones of over 3,000 victims of wars and plagues cover the walls and ceiling and another 21,000 skeletons fillings the church crypt below.
The chapel was built in 1776 by Bohemian local parish priest Vaclav Tomasek, who served as a mass grave for local people who died from war and disease during that period of time, the chapel was intended as a shrine for the dead, as well as a “memento mori” for the living.
The Skull Chapel is the only such monument in Poland, and one of six in whole Europe.

If you want to see Real bones, this place is for you. Recommended to visit as a additional atraction, for example after Błędne Skaly or Strzeliniec.
