beautiful visit. it is a superb museum, with the history of aviation, but also some in which you can enter and share the history that they lived. but also the museum bertone, and an outdoor museum with locomotive, trains, draisines,... in short we spent almost all day there and we did not see time pass. Only downside, the restaurant closed during the week (but there is a small snack - where the lady at the till was very friendly - to eat paninis) . but everything was otherwise really perfect

Certainly we start from the fact that the museum is located at a pedestrian distance from Malpensa airport, so it is quite easy to reach it even without the need 'to have a car.
The various pavilions contain an important number of aircraft and model aircraft that trace the technological development of the aviation world.
Also inside there are interesting areas to visit focused on space exploration and automotive design developed by Bertone body shop.
There is veramante so much to see, arousing many curiosity for young and old.
As for our personal experience (my son and I), we carried out the VR Experience guided by Sofia (whom we thank infinitely), which gave us the opportunity to discover so much information about the history of the place where we were (Ex officine Caproni) and especially about the founder of the company of the same name Gianni Caproni and the stages that marked his life in chasing the dream of flight.
The staff was friendly and welcoming. If you can follow the path led by Sofia, I am sure your visit will be even more exciting and memorable!

Beautiful variety of aircraft on display. Stories about aviation. Highly appreciated flight simulators for children (free).
To fix some areas (eg: drones) and some multimedia stations out of order. Very warm in the exhibition spaces, understandable given the season.

Very interesting museum for both adults and children. Combine informative parts with visual and interactive parts.
The complexity of aeronautical and aerospace vehicles, and the feats that have been completed since the beginning of the last century, is astonishing.
My 8-year-old daughter really enjoyed getting on planes and trying simulators and drones. Adults can try the simulators under the expert Guide of former drivers!
The staff, made up partly of volunteers, is very kind and clearly passionate about aeronautics and technology.
Nice also the play area, for free (not obvious, these days!) also equipped with trampolines, and the picnic areas simple and shaded.
We went in mid-August and found little crowd, managing to visit everything with ease and without queues.

A complete museum on the history of aviation, a considerable number of aircraft and helicopters in excellent condition, models and illustrations. Since the museum is inside the former Caproni factories, many unique pieces related to the production of this former factory are also taken, such as the first aircraft built in Italy and pieces of the first aircraft in the world conceived for scheduled Flights, the Ca60.
The museum is completed by an area dedicated to static model aircraft, some of dynamic model railways, flight simulators and the splendid Bertone car collection saved from dismemberment by the providential intervention of the ASI. A gem, among many, the old plane of President Pertini.
There are several volunteers, perhaps former employees of the aeronautics sector which is quite developed in Varese, who are willing to provide information.
The only negative points: being industrial structures the temperatures are those taken externally (where there are also some attractions); the restaurant did not seem up to everything else.
The museum is completed by an area dedicated to static model aircraft, some of dynamic model railways, flight simulators and the splendid Bertone car collection saved from dismemberment by the providential intervention of the ASI. A gem, among many, the old plane of President Pertini.

We thought of taking a trip to Volandia on the day of Ferragosto..è was a great idea as there were not too many people and also it was not too hot. So many things to see and learn, to turn all the pavilions takes the whole day! Indoor fast-food where you can stop for a quick bite and very comfortable outdoor picnic area with children's play area. Really congratulations to all for the wonderful organization and courtesy of each employee. Super recommended!

On the occasion of one of his family days, we chose to visit (almost randomly and after some research on the internet) Volandia and it was a big surprise. Exceptional museum, for adults and children, which makes you discover the experience of
flight in all its forms. Models, warplanes, civilians, helicopters and many other interesting sections with very complete descriptions and helpful personnel. Beautiful the
section dedicated to helicopters, really unique. The tour is completed by simulators, play and picnic areas and the truly amazing space section. Tour lasted from 10 am to 4 pm but wanting even more. Highly recommended!

If you are passionate about Aviation is a beautiful exhibition divided into various sheds of planes, helicopters, drones, space, simulators etc, as well as an outdoor exhibition area... It has an indoor bar, a picnic area, a children's area, a shop ... Need at least half a day to be visited quietly... Negative note: it was extreme heat and there was no air conditioning... And from what they say about winter is the same on the contrary...

Very interesting, well organized and full of unexpected surprises! We will return for a second visit to the departments that we liked the most or that we did not expect so interesting, such as the cars of the Bertone collection or the Spazio pavilion.
This museum in my opinion should be advertised more, even with billboards or directions throughout the area!!

Io e la mia famiglia abbiamo passato una splendida giornata in questo parco che è molto vasto e interessante anche per chi non è un amante degli aerei. Sono presenti delle panchine e dei tavoli da pic-nic per mangiare all'interno del parco. È possibile testare dei simulatori di volo. Abbiamo anche fatto la visita guidata con la realtà virtuale ma mi aspettavo qualcosa di più coinvolgente.

Siamo andati a Volandia e uno dei nipotini ha compiuto tre anni a gennaio 2019: si è incantato e divertito con l'enorme plastico della città e dei mezzi di trasporto, con gli aerei, con lo spazio interno ed esterno dedicato ai bimbi, sulle vecchie carrozze dei tram e dei treni accessibili e, infine, nel planetario... se poi fai fare anche il picnic all'esterno,direi che ci puoi passare più di mezza giornata. Escludi di visitare, però, tutti i padiglioni...
