Le site est extraordinaire mais il manque d’indications, pour accéder à l’entrée, pour les parkings, pour les navettes-retour et leurs arrêts… l’organisation de l’arrivée des visiteurs-randonneurs est à améliorer très sérieusement.

This is a stunning walk along beautiful scenery. Not good for those with fear of heights or vertigo, but otherwise very easy and safe.
Beware, though, and check your credit card statement carefully. Mine was charged twice. A convenient mistake!

Il percorso è completamente in sicurezza, accessibile a tutti. Con noi un'amica che soffre di vertigini, è arrivata alla fine del percorso senza problemi. Abbiamo parcheggiato vicino all'ingresso nord, acquistato i biglietti a €10 direttamente in biglietteria, perché online erano esauriti, impiegato circa 2 ore per fare il percorso di circa 5 km, rientrati in autobus €2.5 fino al parcheggio nord. Bellissima esperienza. Consigliatissimo.

The walk itself was around 5 miles. The start of the walk was through wooded area, slight inclines, shingle path, keep to the right if you don’t like steep slopes on the left!
The start of the main walk through the mountain was great, very safe, the steel bridge was ok but very windy on the day I went, swayed a bit but quite safe. There are a great deal of steps, both up and down, fairly hard going as steps uneven.
The finish of the canyon walk I found the hardest as many, many steps climbing both up and down, then probably another mile skirting round the woods.
I can walk 5 miles and more fairly easily but the steps I found difficult especially the next day, but saying that I would put have missed it, was such a great experience, you won’t be disappointed with the fantastic views and the running commentary from the guide.
Luckily it was a cloudy day in September, I wouldn’t have liked to do the walk on a sunny day. Take water and plenty of photos.

Belle randonnée avec de beaux points de vue. Le nouveau chemin n'a plus aucun danger. L'obligation de porter un casque diminue le plaisir de la visite (casque totalement inutile par ailleurs car aucun risque). La visite est beaucoup moins excitante que prévue. Les attentes étaient peut-être un peu trop élevées). Les billets pour la randonnée seule sont trop peu nombreux. Obliger de payer 19 euros par personne avec un guide (que nous n'avons pas utilisé) est un peu un attrape touriste étant donné la grandeur du site. Partir tôt le matin est une bonne idée (nous sommes partis à 9:00 et à la fin du trajet il faisait très chaud. Réseau de bus très bien organisé. Nous avons stationné l'auto à la gare (parking gratuit) et ainsi la récupérer à la fin de notre randonnée, ce qui semble la meilleure option (donc prendre le bus avant le départ, plutôt qu'à la fin, vous sauvez des frais de stationnement.

Hands down, El Caminito del Rey was the highlight of our Andalucia trip! As a couple of “older” travelers we booked our tickets and crossed fingers that we could make the walk. We did…with no problem. What a totally awesome experience. Highly recommend to travelers of all ages.

Excursion faite en Septembre 2023 : réservation sur internet - 2 entrées simples (attention certains sites vous proposent des guides "en français" - il n'y a pas de guide français au Caminito Del Rey - Sauf si celui ci est mandaté par votre hôtel - inutile donc de prendre une excursion avec guide sauf si vous parlez anglais ou espagnol) -
Des panneaux explicatifs sont situés tout au long du sentier - il suffit de traduire avec votre téléphone pour connaître l'histoire de ce magnifique site.
Parking payant 2 euros - suivi d'un bus 2.50 euros par personne et par trajet qui vous dépose proche de l'entrée du sentier.
Vous pouvez acheter des places directement à l'entrée avec le risque de faire demi tour (car complet ...)
Toilettes à l'entrée du site (allez y car durant tout le parcours il ne sera plus possible d'y aller)
Le parcours fait 7 kms (la fin est assez rude - escaliers, pente...)
Vous êtes équipés d'un casque (quelques chutes de pierres possible)
C'est un site magnifique, le paysage est splendide et le dépaysement aussi - de belles photos au RDV
Bonne excursion :-)

Fin gåtur gjennom spektakulær natur. Dype kløfter. Stier som henger i fjellveggen. Hadde vært en super tur om man kunne fått den alene. Men man er ikke alene. Over 1000 andre går turen samtidig, så mye venting. Dette på en lørdag. Kanskje den mest populære dagen.. Så finn ut hvilken dag det er mindre turister, og gå da. Da blir denne turen 5 stjerner.

The walk itself is lovely and not difficult. The hike to the entrance is not terrible but mostly downhill. After you've completed the walk there is a longerish hike to the bus to return you to your car. We were surprised by this, we thought the walk was done and then it kept going and going. I would recommend this activity.

The only remaining available tickets in August and early September start at Noon and later.
Won't it be too hot in the afternoon as the temperatures will be above 35C (and often above 40C) for a 2-3 hour walk?
I've read all the reviews I could find and no one has complained about the heat.
No one has either mentioned that we should carry water and how much.
I'd appreciate any advice

Yes they will be fine. Its very easy walking and just a few stairs to climb.

No, sólo en el primero. Es un parking grande a la izquierda en el centro de recepción. El siguiente parking es de pago y no concertado con la visita guiada. Deberás coger en el parking el autobús que va al inicio de la visita.

I booked a ticket to Caminito del Rey for 9:50 and I need to get there by public transport from Malaga.I found a route from Malaga to Alora(7:00) and I want to know if it possible to get a taxi from Alora train station to Ardales North acces Caminito Del Rey and how much it will cost.
Travelling by train to El Chorro
It’ not am option brcause first train is at 8:24.

desconozco esa zona, fuimos en coche y lo dejamos en un pinar , caminamos cuesta abajo hacia la entrada, tal vez un par de km. regresamos en bus, fijate bien en donde dejas el coche para recogerlo de vuelta. compra entradas en la taquilla a tu llegada. No lo hagas por agencia ni cojas viaje guia organizado, no merece la pena,

Hola Myriam,
Yo aparqué en el parking grande al lado del Centro de Interpretación.
Desde ahí a ka entrada hay un autobús que te deja cerca del restaurante Mirador y allí cerca esta la entrada.
Al terminar el recorrido el autobús que se toma te vuelve a dejar en el parking del Centro de Interpretación.
Es muy cómodo.

I would check the weather and go if it isn’t wet/raining. Early in my pregnancies, I remember having to pee frequently. There aren’t any toilet facilities after you get on the trail so factor that in. It’s well worth going if you can!

Buenos dias, no puedo responder tu pregunta, ya que fuimos en coche, llegamos hasta el límite de acceso, lo dejamo el coche y caminamos hacia la entrada principal, hay excursiones organizadas, pero seguro que son más caras, pregunta en Antequera, en la oficina de turismo, pero me da que son organizadas,,,o pregunta a los lugareños.
