I am in Macau and wish to go on a tour. Information and price in Hk dollar please. I am not a robot
You can go bus though. Stayed there for 4D3N and my major transportation was bus. MOP6 if you pay in cash, MOP3 if you pay by their card. You can get the buss pass at all convenient store!
I would like to visit The Historical center of Macau for one evening but my husband uses a wheelchair. Is this a practical option? Would appreciate your advice.
Hi, The sites of the Central Macau are cobble stoned so may not be practical. It is flat for some of the way then there is a steep hill to the Church ruins. Plus it is very crowded. I would not recommend the visit
We want to travel by ferry from HKG in the morning, then have some lunch, then say a three hour sightseeing trip to incorporate the old centre of Macau. We are booked for the Dancing Waters show at 5 pm so need to be back at that venue in time. Not interested in the new part of Macau. Thank you.
You can also research both your HK and Macau travels directly on the TripAdvisor forums for these destinations. There you would find helpful FAQs with information like How to Visit Macau - What You Need to Know and helpful information on bus links. Sadly, TA doesn't allow links to be added here but you can google search and find quite easily. Good luck with all and hope you enjoy your trip to Macau.
Is it possible to use Hong Kong Dollars on the bus in Macau? How much does it cost (approximately) to get from the ferry terminal to the historic Centre?
Yes. HKD are accepted everywhere including the local bus and around 10dollars, but there is a price list at the bus stop
Hi, How to travel around in macau and around how much is the charges? Does the food street start in the morning ? Thank you.
There are free casino shuttles from the ferry port or airport, and once there you can just walk, me and wife in our sixties and had no problem, there's lots to see and all the street have signs telling you where everything is. Nice narrow streets with very little car traffic, ( everyone walks ) you will enjoy, until you gamble lol. And you can walk out on the outside of the tower near the top !!
Hi, Any public transport to go to the food street from Venetian Macao ? Can we get taxi from there to Macao tower ( about how much?) Thank you.
Hello! You have taxis and food court at Venitian Macao hotel. Also is free to take several buses that run between hotels that have casinos. So you can move most of the time free. Buses are also inexpensive in city centre. Enjoy Macao
I am disabled and use a powered wheelchair scooter which most taxis and buses will not take on board! Are there accessible taxis there? If not how long (time or distance) is the walk from the ferries to the centre, then to the casino area and then back to the ferries - or whatever order you think would be best? Thank you.
Generally, one goes to Macau by Ferry from Hongkong. It does have a small port, but serves local areas only. Ferry point in Macau is very modern having buses to take you to all parts of town, Macau is divided into two parts - the main city area and the offshoot island having Cotai and Taipa villages. Casinos are at both sides - the one in the city ( near Lake) are MGM, Lisbao and Wyn. In the island area these are Venetian, Galaxy and Holiday Inn. The ones in island area -in Cotai and Taipa are very well spread while the ones in city are typical city hotels with casinos. The city centre ( Chinese market) is slightly away, but buses and taxis are available throughout. If you stay at a casino, they have free buses to take you to various parts of the city. I am sorry but I donot specifically recall the facilities for the disabled. BUt you may write to the casino hotels and they will surely guide you in this regard. I would heavily recommend the Venetian suite which is simply awesome for a good relaxing stay.
1. Is it possible to walk from the Ferry to the Historic Center of Macau? 2. What transport from the historic CENTER of Macau to the house of dancing waters and from Venetian to the Gerry pier for a return. 3. Does turbojet return tickets suffice for this or do I have to take separate tickets from two different ferry piers
Hello It may be possible to walk from the Ferry to the center but its not convenient-- I would suggest to take a casino shuttle (they are usually leaving from the terminal to the different casinos). If you have a hotel already you could check with them if they have a shuttle or if they can arrange transportation (we have done this before, free of charge). 2. Again, you could go to one of the large casinos that have shuttles to the City of Dreams (where the House of Dancing Waters is) or to the Venetian. Most likely you can find the ones leaving from the Gran Lisboa or MGM. You can also take a taxi and should not cost more than 60-70 Patacas each way. 3. Sorry, I can't help you on this, but the ferry tickets can be bought before boarding (in either of the ports).
Hello, We will be in H.K for 8 nights to visit relative going there with my mum she is 80yo and my nephew 12yo, and my sister 4 of us, can anyone recommend where to stay in H.K and Macau for 4 people or 3 adults 1 child !! Also need to consider for my mother not too rush rush or lot of walking not sure join the local tour 4hours or we can do it in our own time. This trip is about my mum and my nephew. Well if I can squeeze in for shopping that would be great, ha ha .... also for my nephew I was thinking taking him to Disney or Ocean Park, cause time so limited also would that be good idea taking mum with us (what is the entry fee for just door fee no ride?) Thanks a millions in advance.
Educate your nephew in Macau by visiting the Maritime Museum Macau which is one of the best museums of its kind in the world, they have loads of scale models of ancient ships which should fascinate any boy (closed on Tuesday). The principal museum is of course located in the fort above St Paul's which is closed on Monday - unfortunately I missed it because of this.
