To be a heritage train fi UNESCO and cosyo 70 euros per round trip. Travel without guarantee of sitting. In the old carriages of the other century. Without heating and with windows open because there are views. I don't recommend it. Get to Saint Moriz that eventually an outlet of the big brands and hotels. Never again.

The train makes a very interesting route, passing through the streets of Tirano and then climb to the snowy peaks of Bernina, and then descend to S. Moritz.
Doing it in winter allows you to see landscapes made fascinating by the snowy manor like Lake Bianco.

But even not...prepare to run to take a seat (second class) otherwise you travel standing for more than 2 hours..for what? Sightseeing tour to see snow-covered woods and not , arrival in Saint Moritz, a town where you also pay the air you breathe .. 50 euros for two hamburgers and another ride to the train at 14.48 for the return... stressful day and moreover very expensive, absolutely not recommended .. other than UNESCO heritage, heritage ticket!

I was yesterday on the train with an agency in my area, I read so many negative reviews because of the crowd, with agency we had the reserved carriage (on the regional) and the guide, so we had no problem, we got on 5 minutes before and everyone sat comfortably and we even had a packed lunch in peace.
The view is wonderful, maybe doing the Tirano St Moritz route is more incentive, we did the opposite that is St Moritz Tirano, we started with snow and breathtaking views and then descend in altitude and find everything barren and 'more neutral' than the start, but beautiful in any case .. recommended, to do once in a lifetime! Possibly choosing a period not of holidays and bridges, so that you will have plenty of time to sit calmly and enjoy the journey!

Very beautiful landscapes, the view of the snowy landscape leaves you speechless but the organization itself leaves a lot to be desired: people standing because the seats were finished and this does not allow you to see both sides and for people standing is an inconvenience since the cost of the ticket is for everyone equal and it is not pleasant to stand 2 hours (if you do not get off at one of the stops). Getting on the train is a unique push to secure your seat.
I recommend always arriving half an hour/40 minutes before the indicated departure of the Train. If the train is full you will have to wait and take the next one.

We left Milan at about 8.30 arriving in tirano around 11.30 (the railway line had an interruption and we took a replacement bus offered by Trenord).
Upon arrival in Tirano we had a bite to eat near the station and then we bought 2 tickets valid for 2 days on the Rhaetian train, this allowed us to make more than one stop, to hop on and off when we wanted and also take the buses of the region included in the price.
We chose to go down to Diavolezza (where by cable car you reach 3,000 meters) and Pontresina (nice village where we took a ride in the woods with the horse-drawn carriage).
There are many countries worth seeing so I definitely recommend the ride with this train!

The spectacular view thanks to the slow pace of the train where rolling down the windows you immerse yourself in that spectacle that only nature can give you, for us it was beautiful because as soon as we got on it started to snow, a real magic. I recommend it with DIY booking the train from the site and staying a stone's throw from Tirano "Località Bianzone, Locanda Altavilla "

Impressive experience. The choice to stay along the way was spot on, we were able to fully enjoy the experience by making scenic stops (see Alp Grum), stops to take wonderful walks to majestic glaciers (see Morteratsch) and finally enjoy a full day in St Moritz to discover this beautiful country of the Engadin.

Finally after years and years of: "now I'm going" I managed to convince myself and I booked the Bernina Red Train. The experience was pleasant but I honestly thought in something more... let's say that the landscapes are beautiful but they did not leave me as enchanted as I hoped, it will also be the long journey from Milan by bus that made me tired and unable to fully enjoy this experience. The visit to the Sanctuary in Tirano and the visit to St Moritz were very welcome as intermediate stops.

Ciao a tutti, io volevo fare il giro sul trenino con cane a seguito perché purtroppo non so dove lasciarlo.. qualcuno l'ha fatto? Ho letto che i cani sono ammessi e pagano la metà del biglietto, ma in fase di prenotazione on line non ho letto nessuna voce per quanto riguarda il cane. Qualcuno sa aiutarmi? Grazie mille

Ciao, come funziona la normativa anti-covid? oltre ad avere il green pass e aver compilato i due moduli online per la Svizzera e per il rientro in Italia è richiesto anche il tampone rapido? Sul sito ufficiale ho letto che per chi arriva da stati e/o regioni confinanti non c'è l'obbligo....qualcuno ha esperienza in merito?

Salve a tutti,
vorrei fare 3 giorni l'8 dicembre, sto prendendo info ma mi è difficile capire con certezza, ho un cane e vorrei informarmi per bene.
Arriviamo a tirano, e partendo da tirano verso st. moritz ci sarebbe:
- un treno panoramico rhb.ch giusto?
- un treno regionale delle ferrovie svizzere sbb.ch giusto?
Nel panoramico i cani pagano se liberi, nel regionale pagano se liberi???
Vorrei fare un andata con regionale e ritorno col panoramico, mi conviene?
Vorrei anche fermarmi in qualche fermata intermedia, quale consigliate? Vale la pena arrivare fino a St. Moritz? Siamo più interessati a natura e scorci mozzafiato, dove vale la pena andare?
Andiamo per visitare al meglio Il sito Unesco.

Ciao, il viaggio in carrozza panoramica ti permette già di vedere paesaggi mozzafiato: cascate, canaloni di ghiaccio e neve, vegetazione..... per quanto mi riguarda consiglio andata in carrozza panoramica e ritorno con ferrovia regionale retica più economica. In riferimento al cane non saprei dirti.... ma se contatti, via mail o telefonicamente la ferrovia retica, sono molto gentili e ti rispondono tempestivamente. Buon viaggio!
St. Moritz merita una visita..... il lago di Poschiavo è molto caratteristico e alpe grum domina il panorama
