Great for lots of places to eat and drink , from street food to restaurants. All bars offer some sort of deals on beer and shorts . Too many bars to name but all have a great vibe and are very welcoming, one tiny shack straight in front of the rostrevoir was one we visited every day due to proximity of our hotel which had a little supermarket attached which opened very late and was fantastic for the things you only remember when your out partying also serves the best roti in Barbados.

Contemporary in style, fabulous menu, lobster tail Thermidor to die for, lamb rack excellent. Kellisha (The Manager) and her team all fabulous and super hard working Shandie (Shirley) lovely girl and very attentive.
Definitely recommend to anyone looking for something a little different from the St. L gap strip.
In our 8 day trip we went twice we liked it so much.

We rented the only apartment on the beach at the Saint Lawrence Gap, so it was perfect for visiting the Gap during the day or night.
For the not-so-fortunate, we suggest that you catch the public bus or small local minivan from where ever you are staying for about $2, to St. Lawrence Gap. They will drop you off at the corner by the Castaway restaurant opposite Cafe Sol. Continue past the palm trees on the beachfront on your right, and then follow the road up the hill past the Dive bar and turn left at the Cocktail Kitchen opposite Saint Lawrence by the Sea church.
There is a great variety of bars and restaurants here that serve local Bajan dishes and cater to the tourist but be warned it gets very loud and busy at night. Take a stroll down to Sharkey’s bar for drinks with lots of colour, there is even a local rum bar nearby where you buy rum by the pint, after which there’s Hals Car Park bar for karaoke later.
In the daytime, visit the veranda at the mimosas bar and drink lots of Icy cold adult beverages while gazing out over the blue Caribbean, or wander further down the gap and you will find a variety of street vendors selling everything from fresh Coconuts to slices of Macaroni cheese. There are even signs for Cuban cigars, Barbers, island tours, a Friendship place, and lots more eating establishments.
TIP: Chickens seem to be everywhere they make great subjects for different holiday photos.
I would apricate a thumbs up below if you found this review informative.
Thank you.

We went to this area a lot to eat, plenty of choice. As we had a car we usually drove to eat then back to our hotel to drink and chill. The downside is that if you don’t get down there before 6.30pm you will never get a parking space. If your local then taxi is the better option or bus. Very lively area late on with some great bars, I bet in the hight of season tho you would have to book a table for food and certainly have to queue for drinks but as we were out of season it was just busy enough. Definitely recommend this area if you like atmosphere as it was the most lively area around. If you walked further down the street the restaurants/hotels on the right overlook the sea so are more suitable for couples of young family groups, the bars/restaurants on the left side are more energetic and lively for groups and drinkers so all in all something for any age group. Will definitely visit again

Just back from Barbados and I thought I would give my impressions, thoughts, and recommendations. Wife and I stayed for 6 days in the GAP but we went all over the island.
We had plans to go to Barbados a couple of years ago, but Covid happened, and we just now had the opportunity to get away and we are so happy we did!
Travel: use the apps folks, we used BIM and Verifly Apps and had no issues at all. Little bit of a line at the Barbados airport but that is to be expected, I always bring print offs, and that certainly helps too. But really no issues at all with our forms and test results.
Car Rental: Chose Stoutes, and they were great to work with. They are right there at the Airport (Avis) and had the car ready and waiting for us right when we arrived. We got a soft top jeep, it was exactly what we wanted. I am an American, but had no issues with driving on the left hand side of the road.
Accommodations: Wife and I are both in our early 40's and still like the nightlife, bars and listening to live music. That's why we chose to stay in the GAP, there is always something going on and a good variety of places to go. We stayed at Infinity on the Beach, great location, basic rooms, modernized bathrooms- but nothing fancy. We tend to not stay very much at the resorts on our vacation so we just needed modest, clean room, which it was.
Fav's from the GAP:
Cocktail Kitchen- had the best drinks and their food was amazing as well, we frequented there for happy hour multiple times.
Harlequins- Really solid dinner menu, its a blend of seafood, creole and Italian, highly recommend eating here.
Sharkey's- we didn't eat here, but stopped in for drinks several times, always a good, friendly crowd, good place to start your evening.
Crave- didnt eat here either, but they do have good cocktails and a nice ambience.
My Friends Place- Probably our favorite place to hang out and drink, they have a basic food menu, but always have live entertainment, people dancing, and having a good time. This was right across from our resort, so we usually stopped by here on our way home.
Carib Bar- We watched the Super Bowl here, great setup! Nice little beach bar with great service.
There are also a collection of small bars, rum shacks right next to Infinity on the Beach. They usually play music late into the night (DJ) and have a good crowd.
Honorable Mentions: Try the GAP burger! Best late night grub on the strip.
Holetown: If i had just a few days in Barbados, this is where I would go. They have enough restaurants and bars to keep it fresh and of course plenty of beaches. This is the nicest part of the island in terms of luxury and high end stores- my wife loved it!
Tides: hands down the best meal we had on the island. The setting is beautiful, its everything you would want for a romantic restaurant. Would highly recommend.
Red Lounge- Good cocktails, but it was definitely a club vibe. if that is your thing you will like it.
Jamestown Bar- another club vibe place, right across from the Red Lounge.
Other Recommendations from across the island.
Cutters- best cutter sandwich and rum punch I had on the island.
Fisherman's Pub- this was a surprisingly good place, probably top 3 on the eating list, its a cafeteria style lunch, and you will come away very full and happy.
Fish Pot- We didn't get to eat here, but everyone we talked to loved it, we tried to get in for lunch but the place was booked out solid for 10 days. Make your reservations quick!
Animal Flower Cave- Really cool site to visit, you do have to pay to go down inside the cave, which we elected not to do, but just watching the waves crash into the cliffs was a sight to behold. They have a decent little restaurant there as well.
John Moore Bar- if you want an authentic Rum Shack experience go here, its in-between Holetown and Speightstown and is about as local as they come. Another one is Chris' place. Order a bottle of rum and pour it over ice till its gone, plenty of locals in there to chat it up with.
St. Nicholas Abby- very well preserved plantation that still produces its own rum, which you can drink and buy to take home. The grounds are perfectly manicured. It really is a look back in time, and very nicely done.
Bathsheba- This is on the wild Atlantic side of the island and we stopped by a placed called Roundhouse, which has beautiful views of the soup bowl, where all the surfers hang out. We sat back and drank a couple, while watching them catch some waves. pretty cool venue. There is not a lot of sightseeing to do on this side, its not as crowded, roads are suspect in some places, but its a completely different terrain, which we enjoyed exploring.
Beaches: really cant go wrong with the beaches, they are everywhere and you just have to find a place that you like. We went to Dover, Rockley, Crane, Carlisle, & Batts Rock.
Overall Barbados is a wonderful island with fantastic people, beaches, drinks, and food. We really enjoyed ourselves and are so happy we went.

Where are all the kicking bars in the Gap. We are in the Timeout Hotel right in the main area and it us dead as a dodo. What time does it get started. We have been out until 11pm and not a sign of any life. Nobody around. All the small bars are empty. An I missing something. Bar recommendations welcome. I want lively music of any type and other people!

All the bars in the area are very small. If you are at Time Out Hotel then you are more in the beach area. There are only a few bars in that area. At the other end of the Gap there are quite a few.

I'm organising for a group of '50-somethings' to spend a few days in Barbados in March. I'm looking for a lively place, on their last night, suitable for a group of 20 people, with a party atmosphere, it's safe and they won't get "ripped off" for over-expensive drinks. Any ideas?

Hi Blakeys is great. You can look it up but the food and drinks are well priced and tastes great. It's by the sea and goes until 12 midnight depending on the crowd. My advise is to book since you have a big crowd. Also the Crave restaurant in st. Lawrence gap for dinner. The street is lined with restaurant for your picking. For transportation contact 250-9223 or 624-7497 Sam the man. Their prices and service is exceptional. Let me know if I can help again.

Hi all! This Is mine and my best friends first time going to BARBADOS. We are two young single women who enjoy dancehall music and good street food, but we are also trying to stick to a budget. Do these bars/clubs have entrance fees?if so how much? also, how much do the drinks go for? How much should we expect to pay for vendors food? Thanks everyone!

Hi ladies, it all depends on where you are staying. The Gap is probably your best bet for Dancehall music there is also a street party that's over at LimeGrove during the week. Also you have Boatyard & Sharkeys which you can dine at.
If you want good daytime entertainement try the cateraman "Cool Runnings" it's a 5hr boat cruise which is all inclusive.
Oistins is good for Good Steamed Fish and entertaiment.
My motto is if it hasn't got a price on it its up for negotiations.
Have fun I go at least 3 times a year and I'm off back there next week🏝🇧🇧👙🍾🍹

We've been in September and usually the weather is good, - we've also just come back and we heard about the rain in November which was extremely unusual for Barbados - you were very unlucky !! - in September the weather should be no problem but the nightlife will not really be as good as November, December or January - could be a bit on the quiet side.
