Mit dem historischen Zug von Davos nach Filisur gefahren. Dort in den Landwasser-Express umgestiegen, der uns unter das Viadukt gebracht hat. Imposante Sicht des Viadukts. Verpflegungsmöglichkeit vor Ort vorhanden.

Vanuit Bergün een lokale trein genomen naar Filisur om vanaf daar te gaan wandelen naar het Landwasser viaduct.
Een prachtige wandeling van ca. 1,5 uur naar beneden, wat wordt beloond met prachtig zicht op het viaduct. Als je er onder staat zie je pas wat een bouwwerk dit is. Het stond al jaren op mijn lijstje en ben blij het zo dichtbij gezien te hebben., voordat ik een dag later met de Glacier Express er over heen reed.
Beneden nabij de brug een kiosk welke een ruim assortiment aanbiedt, bij de kiosk diverse Picnic banken en inderdaad een barbecue om zelf te gebruiken. Kraampje met zelf te splijten hout staat er ook.
Indrukwekkend Als de treinen passeren.
Via een andere weg terug gelopen over de almen, anders maar net zo mooi.

The train on which we were riding approached this engineering slice of perfection slowly.Cameras were at the ready in great numbers as the locomotive slowed even more so that the public could appreciate the splendour.All the staff on the Swiss trains were eager and proud to help present the attraction at its best.We were thrilled to coast along enjoying the experience.This stretch of line is full of scenic specials.At a very good value for money the whole event was special.

The famous travel photo of the viaduct was enough for us to put it on our bucket list. We stayed over in Filisur and hiked to the outlook point Spectacular!

Gigantic viaduct and beautiful every time 😍 If you arrive by train you have to hike a bit down. In winter when there is snow only accessible by car

Das 120 Jahre alte Landwasserviadukt ist eine architektonische Meisterleistung und ein Muss auf jeder Schweiz-Reise. Der Zug fährt vom gegenüberliegenden Hang über die 85 Meter hohe Brücke direkt in den Tunnel. Wer nicht die komplette Strecke der Berninabahn von Chur bis Tirano reisen will sollte wenigstens von Tiefencastel über das Landwasserviadukt bis Filisur und zurück fahren. Sehr lohnenswert sind die Wanderung in 15 Minuten vom Bahnhof Filisur zur Aussichtsplattform und der Abstieg ganz hinunter zum Fluss. Von unten wirkt das Bauwerk noch viel mehr.
Unbedingt fahren sollte man auch die Strecke von Pontresina über Morteratsch nach Alp Grüm.

Pouvoir admirer de ses propres yeux cet ouvrage qui a si longtemps été une carte postale symbole de la Suisse a été un moment spectaculaire. Nous sommes descendus au pied du pont qui permet de réaliser sa grandeur et finesse.

I saw this on my travel to St Moritz (Glacier Express) from Zermatt and saw many pictures of this viaduct and added to my bucket list. I did this today. We took local train from Chur to Finish (return journey cost us 50 swiss francs for two, using half fare card). So very reasonable.
We were pointed in the direction and we found us at a viewing platform after 15-20 min of easy gentle upward hike. this is the view that has tunnel to your right (towards Filisur). After this we wanted to go to the viewing platform on the other side for the view with long stretch of the train on left side. We were pointed to go down. Walk was gentle, easiest 15 min and we were at the toot of the viaduct for a superb visual treat.
Finding the platform with views as mentioned above caused problems. Internet bloggers reports we followed and went wrong way.
To cut the story short,
Three platforms 1. Aussichtsplattform Nord,
(north) Landwasserviadukt. 2. River side viewing area 3.Aussichtsplattform Süd, Landwasserviadukt (south)
Directions to view Aussichtsplattform Nord, Landwasserviadukt
Come out of filisur train station, turn right (with your back to the station). Walk down about 50 yards till you come to a V shaped intersection.
You go up taking the fork to right and trek for about 15 min. You will spot it easily.
Riverside viewing area
Come out of filisur train station, turn right (with your back to the station). Walk down about 50 yards till you come to a V shaped intersection.
You go up taking the fork to left. If you went to the north platform, Come back and take other end of the V(left) and trek down. It's gentle hike down. Keep walking till you see a parking lot on your right. Keeping parking to your right, walk past it and continue walking till the beast emerge and enjoy the beauty and marvel at Swiss engineering.
Aussichtsplattform Nord, (north) Landwasserviadut
Assuming you ate returning from Riverside platform,
Once trains have passed, trek back. Don't go all the way to the car park. Be on a lookout for a signpost. This gives various directions.
Also a small path at its foot. Now the signs to Landmasses viaduct are pointing to the foot of the duct or the Riverside viewing area.
If you need to get to the third viewing area, take this path.

Viaduto construído na pedra de forma bem firme há mais de 100 anos, antes de Hitler, que não pode derrubá-lo.Imagens de baixo, do trenzinho de Filisur que faz parada de 30 minutos ali,são de tirar o folego.

Ich habe die Brücke nicht von oben, sondern von unten angeschaut. Vom Bahnhof Filisur aus kann man, wenn man gut zu Fuss ist, auf Schusters Rappen eine Rundwanderung machen. Wer das nicht mehr schafft, nimmt einfach die Bimmelbahn.
Da ist für jeden etwas dabei. Und ehrlich, von unten schaut das Bauwerk noch viel eindrücklicher aus.

Is there anyone who give me advice to see Landwasser Viaduct from above? We are planning to go mid of November 2019 and wondering if we should go by the car or train.Because it seems there are downhill roads and might be dangerous for car in winter time.
And do you recommend train trip through Landwasser Viaduct?

I would recommend to go there by train from on Davos with the historical line.
A ride with the Glacier express in the panoramic cars is worth the trip.
I would like to know directions on how to reach the viewpoint on the hill that is on the left side of the Landwasser Viaduct. The village a bit higher on that hill is Schmitten. I can't see a trail on the google map, but I see many images taken from the same exact spot, showing the tunnel going through the mountain, so there must be a viewpoint right above the train rail on that hill. I am arriving by car, so I would also like to know where is the closest and most recommended place to park to hike to that place. Thank you

There is walking path from Filisur to this place. You find it on the "Schweiz Mobil" map - Google has not everything on their data.
The closest point for parking the car would be just off the street close to Solas Davains. You would then walk about 20 minutes from there.
