A fantastic beach that was supposed to be called dog beach.
It's unacceptable that they let so many dogs loose.
For example walking from bunker to bunker you find no less than 100 dogs and also loose

20 years visiting Zahara, pena realmemte shows the progressive deterioration of the area.
Beach bars with exorbitant prices.
Bad smell from drain pranks.
Plastics and trash due to the bottle.
Wooden walks in bad shape.
Very good testaurante and friendly people in village restaurant and good service.
Ultimately it is collapsing, no more future construction.

Been here 18 years. Lovely place but sewage treatment plant seriously underdimensioned and smells badly evenings and mornings. Part of beach was closed at least 3 days in July due to sewage leaks. Walkways to beach badly maintained. Endless new construction work will cause overcrowding on beach and in the village. Used to be a hidden gem now sadly not so anymore.

Bohemian, picturesque, very good atmosphere at night among small remains, bars, ice cream shops and boutiques. Live music in the Iguana pub in the evenings and in the Chiringuito La Luna during sunset.
All rather rustic or old, it lacks luxury spaces and even 4-star hotels do not resemble a 4-star in other countries. The beach is more extensive.
I liked knowing the place but I don't think I'll come back, for 2.3 nights enough

PHENOMENAL DAY. HORRIBLE NIGHT. HUGE LOUD VOICE AND DRUNKEN ROCK FESTIVAL NOISE IN LEMONFISH RING.
Sleep in nearby hotels impossible before 3 .
Owner of Barbate got permission from the city council of Barbate, responsible for Zahara beach.
After ten years coming we don't come back here anymore

Beautiful, wide beach. Wonderful walking. A lot of wind. A bit busier on weekends and a single beach bar open at the end of September and beginning of October.

I have been going to these beaches for more than 20 years and I continue to see more of the same, the spectacular beaches but the garbage containers when entering Playa del Carmen for up to 4 days without collecting them (I attest to this) the walk until reaching the beach with the wood dismantled and fallen....bad boards placed and with risk of falls....without lifeguards, the beach bar that was there is no longer there....a shame really, it needs cleaning and maintenance otherwise In the long run, no matter how beautiful its beaches are, they will lose their charm...

In my years of traveling I have seen many beaches, but every time I come to Zahara I think it is one of the best. Clean sand, crystal clear and cool waters... a place for everyone, it is huge... and yesterday I came across the cows spending the afternoon by the sea….magical moment!!
I hope it continues like this for many years!

Por supuesto en Semana Santa y en verano (julio y agosto sobre todo) hay muchísima más gente, es recomendable si se puede elegir otras fechas.

Hay un enorme cartel que pone que no se admiten perros en la playa de Zahara, pero nadie hace caso. Es lo unico malo de esta playa.

Hola, como estan? Queria saber si hay buen internet disponible en las residencias de alquiler o en cafes/restaurants de Zahara de los Atunes y en Tarifa. Voy a pasar unos dias por ahi pero necesito si o si conectarme a una red robusta, aunque sea celular. Muchas gracias!

Hola! La playa desde luego.
El tiempo en Zahara nunca se sabe por qué lo normal es que haga bueno e incluso calorcito el problema es el viento, si te pilla una levántese no puedes ir a la playa

Indistintamente ,si es un verano de Levante no se puede asegurar que mes habrá más o menos Levante,el pasado verano fue muy bueno....el anterior fue un horror Julio y Agosto
