My beautiful wife and I booked an impromptu tour to see a sloth sanctuary. Little did we know that we were about to embark on a whirlwind natural wildlife tour to see sloths and so much more.
Our knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guide Gabriel led us through the nature preserve where we saw several sloths, teaching us about their way of life and habits.
During the tour we were also lucky enough to see various types of frogs, butterflies, woodpeckers, and even two species of toucan. The guide set up a telescopic lens for each sighting to help us get a better view of the wildlife and take photos.
In addition to the fauna we walked through a beautiful Heliconia forest, where we saw varieties of Bromeliad/ ginger and dense varieties of palms. We smelled fresh chilis, cinnamon, and guava. Hummingbirds were abundant and ate beside us during the post walk lunch which was equally great and topped off with a sweet guava drink.

J adore cette endroit et je viens y faire un tour a chacun de mes voyage au Costa Rica. Luis a été notre guide cette fois ci, et il a été formidable. Il nous a montré beaucoup d animaux et des plantes.
Le restaurant est tres bien aussi. Service et repas a un excellent rapport qualité prix

Our family of all ages went on this tour with big hopes of seeing sloths and other animals. This tour did not disappoint. Jamie was our guide and she was awesome. We saw sloths, a poison dart frog, monkeys, a red eyed tree frog, an owl butterfly, bats and a ton of beautiful plants. She was able to catch great pictures and videos using her scope. It was a great way to end our rainforest adventure.

Hands down one of the best tours we did during our time in CR. Jeimmy our tour guide was AMAZING!! She was knowledgeable, friendly, a great camera and video person (National Geographic) and went above and beyond seeking out Sloths, Howler Monkeys, insects, bats, and various plants. This was an experience we will never forget. Thank you, Jeimmy and all those who a part of the Finka Lodge.

Gabriel was our tour guide and was amazing!. Very informative and we got to see all types of wildlife. He was friendly and made the whole guide. Nice cafe at the end of the easy safari trek. Definitely recommend if you’re looking to see some sloths and monkeys.

I don't usually write reviews, but Jaime was just such an amazing guide! The place was beautiful! We saw 4 sloths (through a magnificent telescope), bats, a red-eyed tree frog, a poison dart frog (she went above and beyond to catch the frog in her hands!), leaf-cutter ants, and stunning views. The lunch provided was delicious, and the family was very kind, humble, and welcoming. Thank you so much for a great experience :)

Such a lovely little haven of nature and knowledge! We came as a group with Randall of Shaman Tours (also amazing!) and had no idea what to expect. Our delicious lunch at Hummingbird Cafe was also met with friendly service in a quaint, family-like atmosphere. We then set out to see some nature with Jeimmy who couldn’t have been more knowledgeable and sweet. She found so many fascinating creatures and set up a telescope so we could see things super close up! She took photos for us and all of us and we really enjoyed our time with her. It was a highlight of our visit to Costa Rica and I’m so glad we came! All I wanted for my entire vacation was to see sloths and we sure did! My heart burst with happiness and everyone should pay a visit to Finca Verde, even if it’s just for a short time to learn about our magnificent nature.

Finca Verde was incredible. My now fiance coordinated with them to do a tour of Rio Celeste, followed by lunch at Finca Verde and a tour of Finca Verde- and the whole day was perfect. Kevin was our guide, and we saw so many different animals and plants, and learned so much- and he took pictures of my surprise proposal that was pre-arranged between him and my fiance at Rio Celeste. I recommend the fish casado at the restaurant- and the tour of the property there was incredible. We saw sloths, frogs, lots of birds, tent making bats! Highly recommend!

tour de 1H30 dans la foret avec un guide très sympa , qui nous a montré des paresseux , grenouilles , et singes ; ainsi que des explications sur la flore .

Une jolie balade avec notre guide Luis très sympathique qui nous a fait voir toucan, paresseux, grenouilles rouges blue jean, et un joli jardin bien fleuri. On peut également manger au restaurant sur place.

Does Finca Verde offer reservations/tours with guide for guests arriving by self-drive vs a tour company, or are there companies local to Finca Verde that provide guided tours? Our group of 4 will be in the Tenorio area briefly and are most interested in seeing Finca Verde. Thank you.

Our tickets were included as part of a tour so I am not sure. You’d have to contact them directly to find out.

We are in Costa Rica now and we have hired a car especially to go to Finca Verde but I can’t find a way to book.
We will leave El Hobo at around 08.00 and it takes around 2.5 hours to get there. Do I need to book?
