This road is not high drama but is very attractive and quite diverse. Access to the water is possible at many points

This route can be done in one go (I'd love to try it) starting at Newry and work your way through to Newcastle. Then Newcastle threw several wee villages and towns to Strangford (stop at Castle Ward if you have time, GOT Winterfell). Cross the Lough on the ferry to Portaferry and you can take the inside road to Newtownards then Bangor or take the outside road through little villages to Donagadee and have dinner at the Captain's Table before heading through Bangor and finishing the night in Belfast. Second day you can head to Carrickfergus to the Castle before heading North along the coastline to Larne then head up to Ballycastle via a few GOT locations. Next part you head west towards Bushmills via the rope bridge to sample some whiskey (but not if your driving) from here you can visit the Giants Causeway then finish up in Portrush or Portstewart for the night. Third day again travel west through Coleraine and out to Downhill and Benone Strand to drive along the sandy beaches (also a GOT site). From there you can goto the ferry at Magilligan Point driving past the prison and over Lough Foyle to Co. Donegal or continue along the coastline to Derry City to see the famous walled City and stay the night. You could continue inland into Co. Dunegal through Letterkenny for some shopping the up to Dunfanaghy for amazing views over the Atlantic Ocean.

The Antrim Coast Road drive is a must do activity for anyone visiting Northern Ireland.
Start at Larne and drive northwards towards Ballycastle for the best views...they just keep getting better and better.
Stop off at any of the small villages and towns along the way to relax and take in the sights. It's a lovely way to spend a day.

We have travelled down this road twice now. Once in the wind and rain and the this time a sunny but cold day. A beautiful journey enhanced by the weather.

We drove along the coast road on our way to Bushmill's Distillery and the Giant's Causeway. Highly recommended for great views and rugged scenery.

Lucky the person who gets to drive this breathtakingly beautiful highway everyday! The views are so stunning they actually take your breath away. I could not stop taking photos, our driver was able to drive a slow pace so we could savor every view. At the end we stopped at a gift shop and tea shop with the most delicious light scones, so light they threatened to blow away on the very windy day.

This is probably the most scenic drive you can take in Northern Ireland with plenty to look at. Loads of lay-bys for you to pull over and enjoy things safely. Make sure you set aside enough time if you're going up to the causeway though. We didn't realise this route took about 3 times longer than the motorway.
