Dette museum er virkelig fantastisk. En privat samling af græske dragter præsenteret på en utrolig flot måde.
Forklaringer til de udstillede dragter tilgås nemt via tablets. Disse giver en rigtig god mulighed for også at gå i dybden med oplysninger hvis man ønsker det.
Museet er meget flot og moderne og noget af det mest interessante vi har set.
Det skal man bare besøge.

A museum with its immaculate collection not to be missed.

This was an amazing museum with up to date technology where you could use a tablet whilst walking around to give you information and different views of each costume in our own language. There were three levels of costumes and jewellery, displayed in climate controlled cabinets. It really was stunning to see such a collection and made our visit to Kalamata special. Thank you to the staff who were welcoming and gave lots more information and answered questions knowledgeable.

Outstanding museum. A must see in Kalamata. Beautifully presented. My wife and had an amazing time. The curators knowledge was great and they could not have been more helpful. A shining example of how to create a museum.

An amazing collection of traditional costumes, dress, jewelry and ornaments from old time to modern. It is a MUST-SEE attraction. It is excellently presented and narrated, one can go deep as much as he like in the tradition, the province from where it comes, the fabric etc.
Don't miss it!

Highlight of my trip to Kalamata

Loved every single thing about this beautiful museum. The costumes are beautiful and someone obviously thought a lot about how to design the museum to maximize the beauty—dark (purple?) walls with well placed lighting. Each display is accompanied by a screen that describes the costumes, where they were worn, and includes high-res images of each thing that you can turn and enlarge with your fingers. The women working there were incredibly kind and knowledgeable. They also have a small shop in the back with a gorgeous and well-curated collection of things—earrings, scarves, ceramic dolls—that are related to the style of the jewelry and garments in the museum.

Viaggio nelle tradizioni

Museo molto interessante, una piacevole sorpresa. Ricca collezione di abiti tradizionali provenienti da diversi paesi della Grecia. Allestimento moderno con descrizione e immagini di ogni vestito (in greco e in inglese). Personale molto cortese e disponibile. Una chicca da non perdere per chi visita Kalamata.

Amazing collection of truly gorgeous costumes. Impressive that all of them were made by hand! Visiting truly makes your appreciate the artistry that was put into these centuries ago. A must see in Kalamata!

Raramente ho visitato un museo così ben progettato e arredato. La raccolta di abiti tradizionali provenienti da molti luoghi greci è di altissimo livello storico e preziosità. Un vero tesoro storico, che meriterebbe una conoscenza internazionale più diffusa ed entrare a far parte dei tour turistici.

Très beau musée

C'est un joli musée à visiter. L'architecture intérieure choisie contribue à la présentation des collections. Les costumes sont à voir. Le plus de cette visite est le prêt d'une tablette qui permet d'en savoir plus sur la robe que l'on voit en vitrine, reproduite sur la tablette. On peut ainsi la voir de profil et de dos, impossible dans le musée et surtout, cette tablette permet de voir, de situer la localisation dans les différentes régions de Grèce.
Certaines robes tournent sur elles-mêmes, d'autres montent et descendent et cela donne une note vivante.
Par contre, en 2023, à l'heure de l'intelligence artificielle, il n'y a que deux langues qui sont proposées et c'est un peu dommage. Un progrès pourrait être fait en ce sens et insérer quelques langues supplémentaires.
