We escaped from the sultry heat of the city for a refreshing walk in the mountains, from Vigo di Fassa we climbed by cable car-Catinaccio to the Ciampedie locality at 2004 meters. The colors of nature envelop and instill very positive feelings. Since I did not want to try a specific path all the way, I enjoyed the surrounding stretches and I loved it, I already want to go back.

From Vigo we took the cable car and climbed up to Gardeccia; immediately you are in this natural terrace of grass and flowers with the wonderful Dolomite peaks in the background.... we took the path 540 that leads to the Gardeccia Refuge, the path is almost completely in the shadow of the wood with minimal differences in altitude mo offers beautiful views, along the way there are many Totems that describe nature.... arrived near Gardeccia the forest opens to make room for a wonderful clearing right at the foot of the Dolomite peaks... (here there are several mountain huts to eat) .... the return we took a parallel path that at first is all downhill but then there is a short climb but with a high slope (it is a ski slope) to rejoin Malga Negritella.
PS: we wanted to go down to Vigo on foot without using the cable car but the bottom of the path is very disconnected.... since with us there was a 6-year-old girl we avoided.

The stretch that leads from Ciampedie to Gardeccia - which I highly recommend - is a flat walk immersed in the woods and enlivened by wonderful panoramic views towards the Marmolada and Sella groups, as well as by the constant presence of the Catinaccio peaks.
Ciampedie is a vast meadow plateau with great panoramic views, with a privileged view of the "basin" of the Catinaccio, the spectacular Vajolet Towers and the Larsec Cliffs. However, I find the presence of games and other equipment excessive, distorting the nature of the place, which is already crowded in itself. Gardeccia, where shuttle taxis arrive from the valley floor, is an ideal base and I would say almost obligatory for climbing to the Vajolet Towers or Passo Principe.
The paths are easy, they are often narrow roads, but from Gardeccia onwards the slopes are noticeable, especially in the long uncovered stretches, i.e. in the sun.

Excellent walk, suitable for everyone and relaxing!
We went here to spend our last day immersed in nature and the peace of the mountains.
The place is ideal for children and for those who want to sunbathe and not give up the fresh air of almost 2000 meters and the comfort of having many small places to eat or nibble on something.
The place, as in all places in the Dolomites, is wonderful and the Vajolet Towers are something unique.
Absolutely recommended for those who want to walk and follow some paths or for those who need tranquility.

I was on this path with my girlfriend during a holiday in Val di Fassa. The marked route leads from Campedie to the Gardeccia esplanade. Along the route there are many panels with gnomes drawn that tell legends linked to the area. The road can be traveled on foot or by bicycle. The whole area remains almost completely in the shade during the morning and afternoon thanks to the many trees on the sides. The route is easy and not too steep, it is certainly suitable for families with small children. Before arriving at Gardeccia you also come across a mountain hut with grazing animals.

Starting from Pera di Fassa, we took the chairlift up to the second section and then went up to Gardeccia via the path of legends. There is always a climb but no exposed roads, suitable for children. For strollers you have to push. From Gardeccia we went to Campedie through a forest on a path that was almost always downhill. From Campedie we took the Fly Line to the beginning of the second section. High prices but it allows you a beautiful view of the Catinaccio on a slow and pleasant descent through the woods. From the second section we then walked down to Pera. Long route and important descent. From the second to the first section you can choose whether to stay on the gravel road or on the meadow while from the first section to the town it is all gravel. For small children it is better to use the chairlift service because the road is long.
