This was my 3rd time on Blue Heron Boat Cruises but the first to review & they so deserve it. My high school pal from Newfoundland came to visit in August & she had never been to Tobermory in her trips to Ontario before so I made sure she experienced it all there. We had a 5 min walk to our boat in the AM which was amazing as we stayed at their motel which was also amazing. The staff on board were fun educational & super friendly. this is a tour I will do again & again as the wrecks & flower pot island are fun and amazing for swimming even tho the water may be cold to some its still great - Bring your water booties as you will need them to navigate the rocks to get in & out of the water. Pack a lunch & enjoy Flower pot Island & the boat cruise.

Considering the time of year, I thought this trip was excellent - not cheap but still worth while. The boat was as clean as a whistle, decent glass bottom to see the wrecks in the harbour. Not much wildlife to see under the sea but a really good trip. No food or drink available so go prepared (take a picnic and water)
Liked the fact you could get an early boat, walk round the island and catch a later boat back but it was quiet - could imagine it getting a bit hectic in high season!

I was happy this cruise was booked over a month ago, arriving to a full board of ‘sold out’ notices on the cruise board at Tobermory. We had no idea of the number of tourists in this small port but it's a very popular day trip from the Toronto area.
We checked in to the small port office to find our assigned dock #, then waited for one of the fully loaded blue boats to unload as our queue extended down the dock. Everyone was seated for the beginning of the sail but quickly departed the seats to the deck sides to photograph all the many sights; shore houses, sunken boats, lighthouses, rocky shorelines and flower pots.
What an exciting well run sightseeing cruise.

The area surrounding Tobermory is beautiful. We took the cruise/drop-off, a four hour trip. The staff were very friendly, the boat was clean and well maintained.
The drop-off was on Flowerpot Island. We were there for three hours. We spent the time hiking two of the three trails. The trails are well kept and marked. I would rate them as medium in difficulty. Make sure to bring water and proper shoes. The views and the crystal clear water were worth the trip.

Short and sweet site seeing, day trip Tobermory Ontario
Staff are professional, the route is beautiful and you get to see the cost and Grotto from the water view. Highly recommend.. feels like being in Cinque Terre of North!❤️

I am sorry to say but this cruise is highly overrated. Yes the water was great but its just a boat ride that shows you a ship wrack and "flower pot" islands. Our entire group was highly disappointed having traveled a long distance to do this cruise. You have to be realistic with what you expect for us its nowhere near 4.9 rating it has.

Seamless experience. Enjoyed the trip to the flowerpot island with family. They run on time and the cruise experience was really good.

Wonderful Trip Travis and Kyle were great. Need more sharks in the great lakes tho. Not enough Treasure on the wreck

We were fortunate to board out of season so plenty of free space on the boat.
However we did not feel we had value for money.
The cruise was expected to last 1.5 hrs, but we were back at 1 hr. They said this was because the drop off was quick!
Ship wreck wasn't a great experience. The boat was spun around and around making me dizzy and creating waves and foam not allowing a clear view of the wrecks. I mentioned this to the staff who said its better lower deck through the glass bottom. Not sure I agree as the glass is lots of small panels. Anyway we complained about value for money and were given a refund.

Hello! I booked your DROP-OFF CRUISE TO FLOWERPOT ISLAND on July 16th. However, I haven’t received a confirmation email for my reservation yet. Here are the details of my reservation:

Hi, we are planning to visit end of june. I would like to know how long is the stay on flower pot Island. I saw many options for drop off, I chose the one at 11,05 am (is that the time of departure or arrival on the island? ) but the second leg was 3pm is that the boarding time from the island or the arrival time in Tobermory. Also we are in our late sixties are all the trails rugged?

Hello,
Sorry for the delayed response. 11:05 a.m. is your departure from Tobermory. 3 p.m. is your departure from Flower Pot Island. The trails are rugged, mostly near the shoreline where it is rocky, but there are different trails to experience. We do suggest wearing proper hiking footwear.

Due to COVID-19, we have reduced our capacity on our vessels to 50% as well as require face masks to be worn aboard our cruises.
In alignment with Stage 3, the Grey Bruce Health Unit Medical Officer of Health has issued an order for mandatory mask or face covering use in commercial establishments.
Unfortunately, at this time, we are only able to provide a verbal reminder and ask our customers to wear their masks. We can't force any individuals to wear their mask.
The mask mandatory criteria includes that the following individuals do not need to wear a mask/face covering if:
-Wearing a Face Covering would inhibit the Person’s ability to breathe in any way;
-For any other medical reason, the Person cannot safely wear a Face Covering such as, but not limited to, respiratory disease, cognitive difficulties or difficulties
in hearing or processing information
If an individual refuses to wear their mask once they are onboard the vessel due to a health related issue, we unfortunately do not have any authority to make them put on their face mask.
The Order was designed to increase awareness of the community to prompt positive choice. The best practice and evidence show that most people comply "do the right thing" without the need of enforcement similar to seat-belt laws.
We are currently following all suggested protocols from Transport Canada and governing bodies that provide us with the go ahead to run our vessels as a shuttle to and from Flowerpot Island.

Hi there! Thanks for your question! At this time we are operating as a ferry to and from Flowerpot Island. We are unable to view this shipwrecks in Big Tub Harbour or tour the islands of Fathom Five National Marine Park.

On our sunset cruise route, you cruise by Overhanging Point, The Grotto, Halfway Rock Point, and Cave Point. These locations are also a great hike if you visit the Bruce Peninsula National Park. Taking our sunset cruise is a great way to see these popular attractions by the water rather than land.
