We had such a wonderful time at Monmouthshire. From the welcome we received in the Pro Shop, the greetings and chats with the members who were about to play a competition, to the club captain and the lovely bar staff.
The course is beautifully maintained and the setting and scenery is wonderful. One of the finest experiences we've had and exactly how a golf club should be. We had a fantastic day and will absolutely return in the very near future.

This is a wonderful golf course, if you are in the area, a must play.
A members club that is so welcoming to visitors, the Pro shop is amazing, stocked with all the top brands and latest equipment.
When we arrived we met the Pro who couldn't be more helpful, a fantastic way to make visitors feel at home and something that other, larger and more well known clubs, could learn from. We paid £210 for a 4 ball which included hire of 2 buggies. Tremendous midweek value.
The course is set in the most spectacular area of Wales, backdrops of amazing scenery and the sound of a river accompanies you as you play. I have been lucky to have played many courses across the UK, the fairways at the Monmouthshire were up there with the very best of them, they were like carpet and a joy to play from (when I hit them!).
After the round we had lunch at the club, freshly cooked, delicious and brilliant value, again delivered with excellent friendly service.
If you are on a golf trip to South Wales and maybe tempted by some of the bigger course names, add this one to your list instead. It will be on the top of ours when we return.

Thank you Julie, Clayton and the team at Monmouthshire Golf club for our wonderful takeaway Sunday Lunch this Mother’s Day it was so tasty meat melted in your mouth and as usual there was enough beef over for a sandwich tomorrow you were all amazing thank you so much chris and Juan Torralbo.

Went there for the first time, plenty of parking space nice club house all staff very
helpful nice food not over priced. The course is a bit hilly but not over the top, will
suit most handicaps the back nine is harder than the front but still some nice holes
some challenging ones just to keep you on your toes.

5 years ago my wife and I had our wedding reception here and it was a brilliant day and night. We visited here today with friends for lunch and what a treat, 2 beef and 2 chicken roasts, plenty of fresh veg, potatoes etc. and 4 tasty sweets for afters and a good lager to wash it down with. The food was as good as we remembered it 5 years ago. The girls serving us were, attentive and friendly and all in a lovely setting.
We will be back very soon for lunch.

This is not the longest course you will play at 5978 yds off the whites, but it more than makes up for the lack of length with the layout that requires well placed tee shots & very tricky greens. Despite playing it twice the subtle breaks on the greens made scoring difficult, but you must visit if in the Abergavenny area, as there are some wonderful holes with stunning backdrops of the surrounding hillside & everyone was very welcoming. The time you play is reflected in the price, so check that out & it was so nice to sit on the bench by the 18th after the round, given the blazing heat this year,with a cool beer watching other players try & navigate the last hole.

Played Monthmouthshire with my wife and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The course was in superb condition and well presented. There are many interesting holes on the course with lovely views all around. The pro and greenkeeping staff were all friendly and helpful.
This is a great course in wonderful surroundings and we look forward to playing it again when next in the area. I would absolutely recommend this for a round or two to anyone visiting the area.

Played the Monmouthshire on the way down to Swansea for a long weekend golf tour. Very friendly staff welcomed us.
The course was in beautiful condition and some of the holes were fantastic. A lot of trees throughout the round, so accuracy paid dividends. Not my strength unfortunately, so played a few of my drives out of the trees....
Very enjoyable, I think everyone had fun despite the higher than usual lost ball count!

Four of us booked for a valentines dinner on Feb 14 and had a real nice time. The food was as always excellent, with a quick service, with excellent staff. We took part in a Mr and Mrs game and enjoyed it very much. We book the golf club regularly each year and we don't have any complaints so far, so I recommend this venue for your functions, dinners or lunches, and there is no need to fill your wallets up as it is very reasonably priced. 10 out of10 for me
