Do the climb on the wooded side, at least we do not undermine morale because we do not see the summit and therefore the distance that remains to be done. Down the stairs. Too bad we can no longer go down to the crater!. The effort is moderately rewarded. Affordable hike because my 11 year old and my wife (not athletic) did it.

We made this hike at the end of the day (5:30 pm) with a 1-year-old carried baby and 2 children aged 4 and 12.
Start from the car park of Les Goules in Orcines (not far from Vulcania) then cross the road. The route is a 6Km loop so if you follow the signs, you will then make the climb through the forest and back through the wooden steps. The climb is very pleasant and does not involve very big difficulties but it climbs anyway (230D+)
Once upstairs the view is just beautiful. We were advised Puy Pariou rather than Puy de Dome and we are not disappointed. WARNING it is not possible to go down into the puy but it makes sense to want to preserve a place like this. We didn’t have too many people so we could enjoy it.

Very pleasant family hike in a "typical" crater volcano. Check-out from the car park of Les Goules (come early in the morning in July/August) then average walk of 2h/2h30 with a climb through the forest and discovery of the crater at the top. Be careful, it is not possible to go down to the bottom of the crater, nor to make the full circle). Return by the wooden stairs (arrangement unconvincing for me as much from a practical point of view as aesthetic since the continuation of the descent is much more nature and steep!). Nice view of the Puy de Dôme and the others around. Be careful, the way back is much less shaded on sunny days.

Superb hike up one side and back down via the steps. Arriving at the top 360° view. on the puy de dôme. Be careful of the wind, it blows very very strongly. To do right next to the Puy de Clersoux with its caves.

The Puy du Pariou is a splendid volcano, which offers an easy and pleasant hike. The crater is impressive, and the panorama of the Puys chain is splendid. This is a site not to be missed if you like nature and volcanoes. The parking lot is often full, it is better to arrive early or during the week. The trail is well marked and equipped, but you must bring good shoes and water. Unfortunately, for several months it has no longer been possible to descend into the crater, which is a shame because it was a unique experience. I hope this ban will be lifted soon.

We did a trek of about three hours, the first part was flat, then you went up a bit, the last part was done by climbing some well-made and not very tiring stairs.
Once you reach the top you can enjoy a beautiful panorama and the view of the crater inside which it is forbidden to descend.
It is a wonderful experience, accessible to everyone, it does not require any particular preparation.

Very nice hike, climbing through the undergrowth from the Goules car park. Magical arrival around the crater. Picnic in the grass with a view of the crater and the Puy de Dôme. Descent via wooden stairs then a slightly stony, unshaded path.

Departing from a small shaded car park, the walk is bucolic and shaded. At a level accessible to everyone.
From the top, the view is superb, especially that of the Puy de dôme.
The descent, via the wooden stairs, is faster but a little slippery on the dirt sections. Take good shoes...

Bonjour je n'ai pas vu de parapente sur le Puy de Pariou je ne pense pas que vous puissiez en faire sur ce volcan là les VTT sont interdits donc je pense que le parapente aussi c'est un endroit qui est privé bonne journée

Bonjour. Sans hésiter... Porte-bébé. Le chemin est en partie dans les bois et l'autre côté ce sont des marches en bois. Belle balade !

Bonjour Trek, j'espère que vous êtes sportif et que vous avez une poussette tout terrain !
Non, trêve de plaisanterie, le chemin est accidenté.
Il grimpe vraiment ! et surtout le sol n'est pas stabilisé. Il y a des pierres, des rigoles, des marches d'escaliers.
Bref, ce serai un vrai parcours du combattant.
Par contre, si vous avez une poussette spéciale tout terrain comme il en existe, je pense malgré tout que cela restera difficile. Elles sont prévues pour des chemin carrossable ! pas accidenté comme celui du Puy de Dôme.

A la Fontaine du Berger, il y a même un hôtel pour vous faciliter l'attente!

Non, ce n'est pas accessible. Par contre, vous pouvez arriver au bas du Puy Pariou avec votre poussette en vous garant sur le parking "La fond de l'arbre" et suivre le sentier le long du golf avant de prendre sur la droite.
