Visit the site independently, a person from the reception gives us a booklet to circulate on the site. We were able to discover how the cabins were made.

Beautiful site that these cabins of Breuil in nature. Very pleasant visit especially at this time of low attendance (2nd fortnight of June). Many ancient tools that can bring back memories to the oldest of us.

How happy these people must have been to live in these stone habitats in the countryside far from everything in small groups. Around fifteen homes renovated by the people who occupy the premises. Well done for restoring this place and allowing us to visit it

This place is ideal for families with young children who will be able to leisurely observe the chickens, chicks and ducks that roam freely there, the construction of these famous cabins (also called bories in Provence) and play in the grass.
So not ideal for us who were a group of adults.

What a great discovery this reconstructed historic place is, at least for certain small houses, which presents itself to the tourist as a very old farm with its various living quarters and working on the land and livestock.
We can wander around this place without any problem, learning from the signs mentioning what we discover during our quest to visit. And there are things to see, notably a small memorial in photos which mentions the history of the site, its owner who created it and lived there from his work as a peasant with his family, a long time ago, then the takeover by the descendants of this lineage to restore this farm for the visit and the discovery of the type of construction of the houses.
Moreover, workshops are scheduled throughout the year to teach new generations about dry stone construction.
Tables for visitors' picnics are available on the site, with the curiosity of the visit to the tables of the geese and ducks coming to inquire about the menu of our meal. And as we can't resist throwing some food at them, we quickly find ourselves in the middle of a very nice farmyard for the city dwellers that we are.
Note that the young owners of Cabanes du Beuil are friendly and are not stingy in giving us a lot of information about the site which they administer with professionalism.
And when we discover these magnificent cabins and all the maintenance work they require to withstand the onslaught of passing time, no, the price of entry is not too expensive and all work deserves pay, even more so when The aim is to preserve the historical heritage of the region.

What a nice surprise ! A morning out of time. A place that is worth the detour for the whole family. Very well maintained by the farming inhabitants. There are animals roaming free there (chickens, geese). It is an educational farm to preserve ancient dry stone construction techniques.
Easy access, quiet, parking and welcome by the owners, picnic tables.

Our friends informed us of this interesting site 25 minutes from Sarlat. It was exceptional.
The site provides informative notes on the background of the settlement and its restoration. Beautiful stone buildings with locally quarried stones restored to an ancient construction process.
Its all interesting and informative in a superb setting.
Highly recommended.
