Good visit and rather quiet, visit in the rain, but not disturbing, because most of the visit is indoors, however, I find the visit is rather short, some rooms were closed. Free binoculars are available on the top of the castle.

Merci pour votre retour, toutes les pièces principales du château sont ouvertes. Nous avons très peu de pièces qui ne sont pas autorisé aux visiteurs. Avez-vous bien suivi le sens de visite ?

This is a great place to visit all-round, but in particular the English language tour was a cracker. Ours was with a young guy called Adrian. It was easily up to Horrible Histories standard. He should be on TV. Marvellous stuff!

Excellent visit to this castle. It's imperative to see the stumbles of course.

Discover , a beautiful site!
The castle has been very well restored and continues to be preserved.
Parking is paid but gives a perfect view of the site , the route to get to the castle is shaded (and it's also good in strong heat on the return😊 )
the route of the visit is arrow , the explanations clear , we discover the museum of the war in the Middle Ages and the history of the castle through exhibitions , videos , pass on the curtains and yes ..the steps are high and spiral ..Attention to young children ..
In August , we were able to see some entertainment for children , a funny and very dedicated team , such as the blacksmith and the master of trebuchets and other war machines .
In short I recommend!

We visited this medieval castle which is also a medieval museum for the weapons of the time.
There are many steps to climb but the tour is interesting. There are also guided tours lasting one hour at certain times. Everywhere there are very informative short videos. I was afraid of being bored because I don’t like guns but in the end I had a great time.

While this place for me was less than amazing, I will say the views from the castle of the surrounding countryside is breath-taking. I have seen so many European medieval historic sites with all its weaponry that it gets old. Still, it is worth it if you have not seen a lot or if this is really your cup of tea. I did enjoying playing a video game of trying to rescue your fellow knight from jail. It took a while, but I succeeded.

I had seen the castle of Castelneau in reports and so I took advantage of my vacation to go see it in real life.
I did not regret it the castle is very beautiful and the interactive tour with very enriching demonstrations and explanations.
A beautiful collection of weapons from the Middle Ages including very impressive jet weapons.
The guides are interesting and passionate.
The site is a bit steep but it is the principle of the castle!
I would have appreciated a little more shade to watch the demonstrations, the sun was hitting hard.
A visit to do!

Nice place very interesting for all. attractions and interesting comments, the 3 hours passed without problem! Museum and films well organized. Impeccable toilet, to report because often when visiting with a child this can cause a problem!!

All right. We enjoyed our visit.
Strengths:
Pedagogical for children
Animations
The magnificent view
Explanations
The toilets are very clean
The weaknesses:
Obviously you have to be able to go up and down slopes and stairs all day.
The trebuchet has restricted hours well inquire at the beginning of the day
No shade or place to cool off. No fountain with cold water or mist.
Many tourist shops that spoils a little charm.
I took internet tickets not to wait, but we had to wait at the ticket office to validate them (what's the point?)
I had planned a day visit with the entertainment but in full sun with young children it is impossible. In the morning, there are fewer people. The parking near the castle is paid 35 euros from 10 am to 7 pm... until 4:20 pm we have to pay 5 euros.

Can I have my money back?
The social distance is not possible at the moment. We visited Chateau de Castelnaud on August 17 2020.You organize events like the blacksmith with 100 people standing next to each other. The stairs are two way instead of 1 way. To many people are in the Castle at the same time.
How can you let this happen?
We left after 10 minutes. Can I have my money (€ 27,30) back.

Dernière admission une heure avant la fermeture.
En juillet et août 9 h – 20 h
(20h30 et 22h15 spectacle-enquête les lundis, mardis, mercredis et jeudis).
Le parking est payant.
Tarif adulte 10.50€ prévoir 3h avec le guide.

Le passperigord ne représente pas forcément les lieux emblématique du Périgord. Je vous conseille d'aller sur le site Dordogne Périgord tourisme, il vous apportera les renseignements nécessaires.
Certains lieux proposent des billets jumelés.
Dernier conseil renseigné vous sur les sites que vous voulez visiter car l'influence est différente selon la saison et dans certain endroit il est conseillé de réserver avant.
Bonne excursions en Dordogne. :-D
